@ArtisanTony Ooops...didn't know there was a Belmont, TN. Shoulda been clearer...Belmont U. in Nashville up the road. My mom attended there, too, way back when it was Ward-Belmont.
when I was a child, it was light bill here, too. Most likely for many of the older folk, light was all they got out of electric power. I would really enjoy walking on the planked surface. Any of the history relating portions we had on video was wrecked by winds. They had really nice placards along the way telling the story of the bridges thru the last 100 yrs or so. Thanks gentlemen!
@edro20 He mainly asked about the area we were in because it is meant to launch canoes and kayaks and they may not want people fishing there. It is really a matter of safety. I would not want to put my canoe in an area where there are a not of hooks and other fishing equipment are lost. I did not do a good job explaining the launch area. Thanks!
Thanks for getting the history and beauty of oyr area out there, my friend! I had no idea that Market St. Bridge was still operable! I'm going to have to get some video of that, for sure! Thanks for sharing, my friend.
@ArtisanTony My family used to call Market St. Bridge the "Singing Bridge" when we were kids due to the sound your tires make as you cross it whith it's grooved pavement.... My nephews now refer to it as the "Singing Bridge". Funny how time goes on...
Thanks for the tour. I like history too. We also have a lot of history here in Cincinnati. WOW, the Delta Queen, a true sternwheeler.

Ok, ok, clearly I'm going to have to visit my niece at Belmont and take a tour around the state while I'm there. These videos are really great.

@scooter17568 Oh, there is a small area/town near Manchester named Belmont. It is probably named after the same person the college is :)

@BackwoodsUncleBub That is a good idea! I think they test it in the middle of the night to avoid traffic problems. Now I must get a schedule :)

@BackwoodsUncleBub haha, at one point in the video you can hear Alex making the sound the tires make as they go across :)

@BackwoodsUncleBub darn, TNdotGov said that it was just tested June 5, 2011. It said that it was tested quarterly not monthly.
