Did anyone else notice how on the LAST lap, the swimmer took ages waiting for another guy to catch up, then when the final straight was EVEN, with no advantage, he STILL did it fast enough to win? Bad sportsman? I think not. The last straight gave everyone a chance after the 2 other rulebreakings.

I did my last summer league relay with my friends that I had been swimming with since I was six. 3 of us are swimming in college now and the 4th is playing college lacrosse. We didn't do quite that much, but we did all do our 50's underwater. I say kudos to these guys for making their last race a good one! (:

i was the second swimmer in the relay, and i can honestly say this race was never about winning. we knew before we ever jumped in the water that we are going to get dq'ed for unsportsman like conduct. it was the last race of the season, and the last time we were all going to swim together. side note: to anyone who has ever been to a summer league swim meet you know how long and boring they are so we were just trying to spice it up.

These guys had been swimming together for more than 10 years. This was their last race ever together. They checked with the other teams and they thought the idea was ok. They were not disrespecting the other swimmers. They did not get DQed for strokes. They won without cheating. They got DQed for unsportsmanship conduct. And finally...it is summer league people, not the olympics! :)
