Just bought this and the closest thing to it I had played was Medal of Honor. Its a hard learning curb but ultimately very rewarding. You really feel like you have accomplished something when you complete objectives. Looking forward to the release of Blood river.

i wish the fire team would be a bit more dynamic. you cant have two people firing onto a position with a jeep or something one on the MG the other to help, and have two to move round barely 50m to the left to flank it. they all sit in the car getting shot at unless you tell them to get out. which on its own is a mission. >.< VERY realistic.

The only thing unrealistic is the AI for the PLA. They can spot and start shooting your character from a couple of clicks away and be able to get a headshot with an LMG through a thicket of bushes or over a hill.
Highly recommend Bad Company 2 to anyone who likes this game. It's not as realistic as this, but it's not over the top like CoD. BF2 is like OFDR and CoD mixed together. Somewhat realistic, but fast-paced and fun too.

once you destroy the sunburn and get to the next location (numbered on map) there is a radar thing up there use your detenator to plant a charge and blow it up then it should work.
this game is not impossible unless youre a halo tactician where the only tactic is to run out in front of the enemys and expect them to hit you and not kill you this game takes good tactics patience time and teamwork because without youre entire team you are not going to finsh this game

a good things to get is a Gforce 9800 GTX as your gamer card (i have that and a Killer Gamercard but that online is fine) and every space you have (i have 6 spaces) fill with 1G ram, my pc is 5 years old, and in my view, is awesome, i play WoW, Aion, This, arma2, and a few DOW games, you don't need to buy a new PC just upgrade = hell of alot cheaper, built to how you want it, no need to re-insurt shit

this game seems like one thats not been coded properly. The fact that your soldiers are also like tards. It's difficult to keep them alive when your being ambushed for instance.
As a gamer, myself, I prefer entertainment over realism. As the commentator says, these missions, like real missions, take time and planning. This may be realistic, but I don't want to have to run 2 miles just to kill 3 guys then run another 2 to snipe someone. Running gets boring no matter how interesting it is that you are running to.
It would still be too big. If you have ever played Arma II, you might have noticed that the effects and gameplay are really great, but the maps are very spread out.
No, but fortunately for me i have common sense that dictates to me that when making defensive positions around a Fuel facility, all these defensive positions should be facing from where the attack should be coming from...NOT AT THE FACILITY.
That's just one example of crap the developers put in to aid the gamer. Enemy squad based AI is excellent, however the AI for initial troop placement and strategy is ridiculous. The Devs just made the war too easy and fake.

btw all you run&gin COD morons doubting the quality of this game: get the lastest console dlc and you'll get two missions allowing you to free roam the entire island in one session by whatever means. if you do it on foot it'll take you 10+ hours realtime :)
i think that's a pretty harsh generalization, calling all people that play Cod morons. I play CG COD4 competitively, and i love it and this game too as well as GRAW and Vegas. And granted, this game is exquisitely crafted, a large landmass isn't indicative of good quality. (btw, to really appreciate the quality, play on PC where proper graphics and environments can really be rendered utilized)
You can change the firing option on the 360 version if the weapon supports it. All you have to do is press left on the control pad and it will cycle through firing options. I like setting it to single when I'm using a marksman weapon and full auto when using an assault weapon. Of course things like Snipers and handguns don't have variable firing options.
what do u mean by fire selector? yes they do have rates of fire and they vary depending on the gun u use. i am not sure of the question u are trying to ask lol plz be more specific.
He means is there the ability to change your gun from say single shot to bursts of 3 or fully auto fire i think. I don't think there is though, ive never come across a game with that.
they do that on rainbow six vegas 2 depending on what gun like the submachine mp5 u can do bursts of 3 single and semi auto believe me i have completed it on regular and im a master sergent
I usually don't mess with firing modes in Vegas 2 because I can do just as well manually as the gun itself can. Plus I don't think you can change the FAMAS' firing mode and it doesn't really matter with the SVD...
on nearly all modern weapons you have an option between full automatic fire (multiple shots on one trigger pull) or semi automatic(one shot per trigger pull) and safety. via a selector on one side or both of a weapon. i would have thought they would have included this feature in this game.

the a.i in this game is pathetic i cannot complete the sixth level because of a constant gltch that stops a ally unit from distracting the enemy to draw them away from a fuel depot and my team just wont do anything other than constantly die and this game was held back a few months imagine how bad it would have been if it was brought out when it was first due we prob would have been playing a ps1 style game
trust me i far from suck at killing people but you've had your own experience with the a.i and thats fair enough but please believe when i say when i say my experience with the a.i is awful and i did complete the sixth level but i had to do it alone because the diversion never happened and my team refused to take order's from me and i had to complete the mission solo
The diversion happens on the 6th level if you trigger the waypoint after the lookout you pass. It's right around the depot (left side of how you'd normally approach it)You didn't listen to the instructions and missed it, so the diversion never took part. I'm amazed if you managed all the troops in there including the spec ops team searching out out after. Would be impossible on solo play on anything above normal level :)
i took the over watch and waited for the attack to happen and the unit never came to help so i went down to see what the hell it was doin and the stupid thing was doing doughnuts in a field
You need to trigger the waypoint AFTER the over watch!! You get a message "diversion starting now" or something like that. Get closer to the plant buildnings prefereably coming in from the left side of the overview you early on.

No, but fortunately for me i have common sense that dictates to me that when making defensive positions around a Fuel facility, all these defensive positions should be facing from where the attack should be coming from...NOT AT THE FACILITY.
That's just one example of crap the developers put in to aid the gamer. Enemy squad based AI is excellent, however the AI for initial troop placement and strategy is ridiculous. The Devs just made the war too easy and fake.

alot of people are guna hate this game.
no1 does want to run 95% of the time and play 5% of the time. It seems boring and i can already tell this is gunna be one of those games where you play then die and say screw this game and pop in a different one.

yeah it's pretty much like every other fps. The animations and mechanics aren't realistic either. Still a decent game though at least it was until MW2 came out.

hardcore is easy too you just need to know the mission or just check the map for objectives and the bots arent smarter in hardcore you just have to play without HUD i say it again this game isnt realistic at all and it will never be realistic. When its about realism in fps i prefer americas army 3 wich is moar realistic then all the other games on the market.

btw all you run&gin COD morons doubting the quality of this game: get the lastest console dlc and you'll get two missions allowing you to free roam the entire island in one session by whatever means. if you do it on foot it'll take you 10+ hours realtime :)

i think that's a pretty harsh generalization, calling all people that play Cod morons. I play CG COD4 competitively, and i love it and this game too as well as GRAW and Vegas. And granted, this game is exquisitely crafted, a large landmass isn't indicative of good quality. (btw, to really appreciate the quality, play on PC where proper graphics and environments can really be rendered utilized)

You can change the firing option on the 360 version if the weapon supports it. All you have to do is press left on the control pad and it will cycle through firing options. I like setting it to single when I'm using a marksman weapon and full auto when using an assault weapon. Of course things like Snipers and handguns don't have variable firing options.

He means is there the ability to change your gun from say single shot to bursts of 3 or fully auto fire i think. I don't think there is though, ive never come across a game with that.

they do that on rainbow six vegas 2 depending on what gun like the submachine mp5 u can do bursts of 3 single and semi auto believe me i have completed it on regular and im a master sergent

I usually don't mess with firing modes in Vegas 2 because I can do just as well manually as the gun itself can. Plus I don't think you can change the FAMAS' firing mode and it doesn't really matter with the SVD...

on nearly all modern weapons you have an option between full automatic fire (multiple shots on one trigger pull) or semi automatic(one shot per trigger pull) and safety. via a selector on one side or both of a weapon. i would have thought they would have included this feature in this game.

the a.i in this game is pathetic i cannot complete the sixth level because of a constant gltch that stops a ally unit from distracting the enemy to draw them away from a fuel depot and my team just wont do anything other than constantly die and this game was held back a few months imagine how bad it would have been if it was brought out when it was first due we prob would have been playing a ps1 style game

trust me i far from suck at killing people but you've had your own experience with the a.i and thats fair enough but please believe when i say when i say my experience with the a.i is awful and i did complete the sixth level but i had to do it alone because the diversion never happened and my team refused to take order's from me and i had to complete the mission solo

The diversion happens on the 6th level if you trigger the waypoint after the lookout you pass. It's right around the depot (left side of how you'd normally approach it)You didn't listen to the instructions and missed it, so the diversion never took part. I'm amazed if you managed all the troops in there including the spec ops team searching out out after. Would be impossible on solo play on anything above normal level :)

You need to trigger the waypoint AFTER the over watch!! You get a message "diversion starting now" or something like that. Get closer to the plant buildnings prefereably coming in from the left side of the overview you early on.
