Just curious as I have a 4L80E going into a custom vehicle. How does your trans do when down shifting? Is there ANY engine braking at all or does the trans just free wheel. I have a built Carl Rossler trans (Terminator-4) so it's a good unit, not some back woods kit and I'm considering my shifter options. Carl told me himself that paddle shifters on 4L80Es are "lame" (his words) as they offer no engine braking. Stumps me really, I thought there'd be SOME. Look forward to your response. Cheers!
