  • Wow. In my Ambulance service our BVM comes with a 1500ml bag, and considering the average tidal volume of an adult male is only 500ml, we only press 1/3 of the bag. Forcing that much air in rapidly could cause air to enter the stomach or even cause barotrauma of the lungs and potentially a tension pneumothorax ...

  • yeah i know. i thought so too. we usually use a 5 sec interval with 5 secs of respiration - 3 in and 2 out. this guy has a 1 sec interval and 2-3 secs of respiration. and besides he squeezes the bag to hard i.e. to much volume. you are totally right in my opinion, this guy would almost defiantly cause gas build-up in the gastric area, which in turn could cause vomiting - obstructing airways and damaging the lungs.

what are your procedures using bag-valve-mask? would be interesting to know.

  • Does your Ambulance Service allow yourself to Intubate/Rapid Sequence Induction your patients if needs be?

  • It seems no one knows how to properly ventilate a patient!

  • Why is there no sound?

Could you guys do a visual and an audio VIDEO on pulse oximetery?

    THANK YOU!
