  • Congrats for this awesome vid! I travelled the Trans Siberian the same year this video was uploaded, was the trip of my lifetime. Everything is incredible: the distances, the cities, the experiencies, and especially the Siberian people, the kindest people I've ever met. • I rode the Trans-Siberian railway from Moscow to Novosibirsk - a 2 1/2 day trip and it allowed me to get over jet-lag from my US to Russia flight - great railway trip and interesting stops along the way.

  • Wow, great, best Video I've ever seen. I took the train in 1983 in Summer. At that time, there was little traffic on the streets and the most building were grey grey grey.

How well painted they are today. All the country of Russia has changed its shape, very impressive. Good job - guys !!

  • Absolutely brilliant!!!!!!!!!!What a video!

  • hi, Im from Novosibirsk, Welcome to us !

  • bravo! This is just what I was looking for... When you bought your ticket, did you need to get it in parts for when you left the train station? Or did you not leave and it just seemed like it?

  • amazing how much old soviet era stuff there was 20 years after the fall of communism

  • Really good video. Im considering travelling on the trans siberian railway this summer. Can i ask how much this particular package was? Thanks

  • GREAT VIDEO! THANKS!

  • This is an excellent and entertaining video! Thank you very much! I went to the former Soviet Union and Russia about three times a year for over 12 years for chemical and oil/gas business. We usually traveled around Russia on Aeroflot because we could not get clearance for our Gulfstream. I always wanted to take the Trans Siberian across Russia to Vladivostok. Good luck on your travels!

  • Thanks for watching!!!

  • Really great video!! I would love to visit Russia in near future. First I think I need to take visa for Moscow and fly from Delhi to Moscow and then Trans Sibir rail to irkutsk.... how much such a trip will cost me, I want in first class. My Russian is good and hope i can make new friends there over. Please guide me how to come and how much its going to cost me? Please help.

  • Hi.. as i mentioned in other posts, you need to buy a ticket for each leg of the trip, you cannot hop in and hop off. A ticket should be around 1000 usd, but as I said it depends on the number of stops. Enjoy!

  • wow, nice vid!

in german there is a nice word for the feeling it evoked in me: "Fernweh" (wanderlust(which is german too ;) ) or "itchy feet")

    thx for achieving this ;)

btw. what prog do you use to compile stuff like this?

  • I use Ulead Video Studio

Danke fur sehen (is that right?) btw.. I love germany!

  • @fabzonline ah ok, thx

nearly right: "Danke fürs Ansehen!" would be the nearest translation :)

have you been to germany too?

  • Awesome! Beautiful video!

  • Thanks for watching!

  • Thanks for video!

  • really cool!

  • Thanks for the video. I'll be doing it Aug 2010 with 3 friends. We are amateur Russian speakers and are thinking of going normal class so as to speak Russian with Russians. Were there many Russians in 1st class? Great vid thanks again!

  • Not really . In first class there were only a polish couple, a swiss couple and us. Second class and third class is full of russians. Enjoy your trip!!!

  • Really enjoyed, brought back lots of memories, wish I could go back, thanks for showing it.

  • hi, I've read that some of you know about the, "transyberian golden eagle", and it seems that is the most comfortable one, would like to know where can you get that ticket at and if they have showers, restaurants, one bed compartment, etc.,

price doesn't matter, I want comfort, that's all, can't stand not getting a shower for 6 days!, thanks

  • thanks for your visit in Moscow=)

  • I love Moscow! Thanks for watching!

  • Great video, what's the name of the track / music on it? Very nicely done

  • It's called Adrift on Deep Water by Blu Mar Ten, an electronic music band from England. Thanks for watching

  • i liked very much,i envy!

  • very good video mate ! !

  • Nice! I live in Irkutsk, Russia)) I love my country and Trans Siberian Railway))

  • My wife is from where you live. She hates the cold though.

  • super very nice video...

  • super very nice... thanks!

  • hi im going in 3 weeks but we are going from beijing ulan bator irkuttzs and then to moskau is it possible to just take trains from irkuts to novgor... and then to ekaterinaburg and then a different one to moskau or do we have to book in advance and are then stuck in the same train. please tell me.

  • my suggestion is you book in advance, with the help of a travel agency. You can make any combination but you need to know train timetables in advance in order not to miss a train , the time gap between arrival and departure could be very long or very short, so I encourage you to use a travel agency in RUssia, you can search in google . Enjoy the ride!

  • did you go on your own? i soo badly want to do it.

  • very nice video!!

  • welldone realy good job

    thank you

  • Am actually in the process of booking this but the reverse, Vlad-Moscow for August. Am booking first class, any tips, are you still with the people, still get to know everyone and socialise even though a different carriage? I'm only booking 1st for the comfort factor, I know 4th class. Cheers.

  • In our case the only tourists that were on the train were on 1st class, not many actually, an irish traveler, a swiss couple and that was it. Of course if your Russian is fluent you may make more friends...

  • A very interesting video! 5* Thank you for sharing your travel experience.

  • That was fantastic.

    1. Could you tell me how much it costs?

    2. Could you get out of the train and spend a day in a city on the way?

    Thinking of doing it.

    thanks.

  • Hi, thanks for watching,

    1. It depends on the class of service you want to travel and the number of stops you want to make, I traveled first, it costs like 750 USD per passenger and in our case we made only 1 stop. Our ride lasted for 4 days.

    2. No, you have to buy separate tickets for each leg.. the train stops only 10-30 minutes in each place and you only have time to stretch your legs...

Do it... I would do it again.

  • good video. good job!

  • This video made me very positive to travel this route. Thanks

  • Like watching postcards wih the meter running and how long in days does this take? Amazingly vast, isolated, huge* Thanks for the journey***

  • nice video,

next time, hope u make this trip by feet.

  • Very nice!

  • Very nice! You may understand how I love the Baikal!

  • Very slick and enjoyable guys. Well done. Really enjoyed it.

  • Thank you very much! I love 5185 km and Irkutsk city because I was born here

  • Again and again one of my favorite video

a great composition of pictures and music

Blue Mar Ten......well done much thanks

  • some day i go here, trans siberian railway of course

  • I am a railway enthusiast, I would love to visit Russia to see the Russian railways, unfortunately I have dark skin and I hear there is a lot of racially motivated violence in Russia so I avoid going there.

  • thats a real shame I just came back from over there after rideing the Trans Siberian railway from Vladavostoc to Moscow it is a very interesting place to visit

  • Maybe I will visit there one day. I read on WikiTravel that it is not a safe place for non-white people. I will probably go with a tour group, it should be safer then.

  • yah that makes sense this was my first trip to Russia and I did it with a group which is very wise its a very difficult country to understand if you arent used to thr culture and the language very little English spoken I rode a new train over there the trans siberian golden eagle almost like the orient express real luxurious unlike the regulr trains but a little more pricey...privatlly owned and booked through GW travil out of england

  • russian racism is exaggerated too much. any single fact gets extreme media and public attention that is the reason. an exact number of racial crimes is dozen or so for nation per year. it's almost none comparing to north america or europe. as for siberia about half of it's population are asians.

  • Russia - a multi-ethnic country, of any violence can not be a speech

  • great video love russia

want to do this trip one day and maby even live in moscow

  • wonderful ..... maybe one day I will go ;)

  • where r u from...hell?

  • great video, thank you!

  • like WOW! absolutely amazing!

  • Beautiful video,my always-dream,cold Russia in in autumn, winter is too cold and summer hot and dry but autumn is OK,the loveliest time of Russia, there is so much of empty lands and through that goes a long railway long about 8000 km.That is fantastic! Those stations, empty lands, people who have never been to abroad, their cultures, weird buildings... I would like to have a trip with my girlfriend there....

  • One day i will make it!!! with one small difference, Lisbon-Vladivostok all by train!!!

  • wow

  • Agreed, nice production.

  • Very good video bro'!

  • Thanks for the wonderful video tour!

  • Cinco estrellas para este excelente video. Me encantó, te felicito.

  • Muchas gracias :) :)

  • I always wanted to take this trip, my parents took the train across Canada and got nothing but good things to say. Is this a good trip, keep in mind I am a train freak (in a good way)

  • Theres a new private trans siberian express train... tickets are pricy though... for the gold class, its 9000 us or there abouts per person.

  • ooooh, naw I won't be doing that one anytime soon

  • yerp very expensive... But personally I wouldnt take the same trip in a normal train... no showers for six days would suck. Plus the standard trains are quite clustrophobic. Then again I'm quite picky.

  • Thanks for the vid. In 2001 I traveled on the railway in the other direction, from Novosibirsk to Moscow. This vid really brings back memories of that trip.

  • You are not the only one who refreshes your memory with this video, I also refresh my own memory watching it! ALl the best

  • In soviet Russia, train takes YOU!

But seriously, fascinating video. Thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks for watching!

  • Nice vid! I posted a video response about our Trans Mongolia Experience. Moscow - Irkutsk - Ulaanbaatar - Bejing.

    Happy travelling!

  • Look to my videos about Russia and Russian cities. Russian siberia is more beautiful, than it is on this video!

  • sorry ianmartem but most of your videos just show a western style Russian. I not point of going to Russian to see the same things that you can see in America. The video above is nice because show the life a person from a different and far away place. wish i could get out of the train and have a coffee with oen of those people on the village.

  • thanks for the note, Im glad you liked it!

  • Well done piece...makes me want to take a first class russian train trip...now.

  • You should.. it's really worth it...

  • very nice thank you for that... I will be doing the same route in a couple of weeks but from Vladavostoc to Moscow on a train the Trans Siberian Golden Eagle and we will be stopping in several places over there and seeing the local sites.. such as where you stopped Lake Baikal

  • This is definitely different than your normal vacation. Seems like a nice adventure and seems to have a lot of scenery to take in during the time going down the track. I want to go on an adventure one day this might be it.

  • the landscape is not very nice for a big chunk of the trip , it is a lot flat... and I missed the urals because it was night.. but still it is one of the best trips I've ever made and I strongly recommend it

  • great vid! it looks exactly like when i went last year, late october 07.

  • great vid! it looks exactly like when i went last year, late october 07.

  • very intriguing and beautiful, thankyou for sharing. this is the holiday destination with a challenge. I would take this over London, new york, the Bahamas any day.

  • cool!

  • Grate vid. We went in 99.

  • Great video! I would one day like to go on the Trans Siberian.

What music did you use for this video?

  • Trans-Siberian from Moskva all the way to Vladivostok, yes and take a ferry and cross the sea of japan to nihon and on to tokyo!

  • how many days did that take?

  • about 10 days.

  • Great video!

Excellent views from ordinary peoples villages.

  • I'd also like to make this trip!

  • wow this is really the trip i want to make . I have been up to north of Ukraine and i really enjoyed it. Can someone tell me how much is the ticket for this trans siberian train? And is it worm enough? :) i ask this since u bought so much vodca for this trip . Yee ..and how long does it take to rich Irkutsk? regards, Adrian

  • The ride lasts for 3 days minimum if you make it non-stop. The price depends on the class and the number of stops you make.

  • awesome video. i would have wished some more footage of insides of the train throughout the journey. don't stop. post more.

  • great video, nice track.

  • what is VDNKH

  • VDNKH used to be an expo to show the achievements of the Soviet Union. Today is a park where you can stroll through the pavillions . I really like this place, the architecture is great and there is a replica of the rocket that launched Yuri Gagarin to the space.

  • Nice video!

I´ve been traveled by this way a few times and it was nice trip. Thanks for loading that video.

  • I also wish to take that train one day:)

    Was it nice?

  • It was a great experience. Beware is not an easy ride, specially if you do it non-stop from Moscow to Irkutsk , Beijing or Vladivostok. I would deffinitely do it again, is a very special ride.

  • Is it exspensive?:P

Im not shore if I woud go for non-stop:)

Coud be nice to see some Russian small towns too.

  • Nice video, but one thing is missing - the beauty of Metro in Moscow

  • In fact the video focuses on the Trans Siberian Train, and the MOscow scenes are just an intro.

  • Aaaaaahhh!!

    :)

  • cool stuff

  • Excelente!!!

Saludos!

  • hehe..

    nice :0)

  • Thank you Chris! Yes, that was Chris from Blu Mar Ten!
