Human rights exist when a human being becomes a human being regarded as an individual by the law. Also known as a person. "Personhood" is more of a legal term then anything. For example, in Ireland fetuses are persons, but in the US they are not. Make sense? Therefore the argument can not be that a fetus is not a human being, but that is not a person. Which is true.

@NillaSpresso a fetus does not feel pain until at least after 21 weeks of pregnancy, there are studies that say that they don't feel pain until the 3rd trimester. Also, I highly doubt that they are capable of feeling fear at the stages of where abortion is illegal.
What I feel is "pathetic" about pro-life people is that they believe that they are protecting someone, when they are violating someone else.

The problem with pregnancy is the nr 1 reason why abortion should remain illegal: pregnancy effects the womans body, and only that woman. An unwanted pregnancy can be a violation against a woman's body, and forcing her to remain pregnant is violating her body and violating her rights. The embryo's rights doesn't override hers, her rights come first.

A life is precious. A life should not be taken for selfish purposes. You can't take a life simply because you assume it may lead a horrid life. In that case, kill everyone. There is no life without suffering. Why pick and choose who gets to experience it? Is your life really so bad?

You can go on about how precious your life is, but that does nothing for people in horrible situations, who are not priviliged as you may be. You can judge women in your blatant ignorance, but you do nothing to help or support them, or their families. Let women judge their own personal circumstances, abilities and beliefs, since, you know, they know more about themselves than ignorant selfish judgemental pricks.

My life is not important to millions of women, and does not and should not affect whether these women should or should not have human rights. I'm also gonna go out on a limb and assume that most abortions are done because mommy was either too young, didn't have enough money, or didn't have good living conditions. Point me out a child that hates their life because they don't have enough money or have a young mom.

@NillaSpresso I've worked with children for many years, and have seen shit that has made my blood run cold. I could show you a child raped at home at age 2; not a happy little girl :( I love children, and believe they deserve the best. Some of their lives are so unbearably miserable, I wish they'd been aborted so they never had to feel such pain and abuse. :( ..You can "assume" whatever the hell you want, but you know nothing about what you stand for. Ignorance is bliss, is it???

@loathedanabhorred I totally agree with you, I spent many years in fostercare and childrens homes and you would not believe the things I have witnessed. The children who where never wanted I can honestly say ALL have serious mental health issues many self harmed in those places,& most are not good members of society and so many suffer from addiction and many have even killed themselves as a result. Just because fetuses are not aborted does not guarantee a life on the outside.

Matter of fact, years from now they will be making it legal in the US to kill children up to the age of 2 if the mother doesn't want it, and it will still be considered abortion because the child is not yet fully developed.
