Whenever a school has to advertise that it is "regionally and nationally accredited SACS + TRACS", red flags should go up.

This "University" is a national disgrace. Its diplomas are not worth the paper they are printed on. You will not find employment in anything other than right-wing organizations. Yes, the Bush administration has been hiring Liberty "lawyers", but that game will soon be up, after January, when the country starts to rebuild the damage done.

Go to a proper school instead.

um, I would like ARGUE that I highly doubt that Liberty University has the number one debate team in the country...I don't anything against Christains that go there other than the fact they vote for political leaders who vote in crackheads who make money off every scandal there is, including the holocaust and 9-11. Grak70...Randolf Macon "womens" college invited his intellectual being to speak there to "shut LU up"...the laughing is from all the ladies at RMWC laughing at comments made by dawkins about the integrity, accredidation, and any other absurd comments made to questions. Most of the students were not prepared for Dawkins years of jumping around questions. I would much rather be beaten in such questions than to become an intellectual liar and never succesfully answer legit questions. best regards!

If you make accreditation claims as ridiculous as LU made, you deserve all the ridicule you get. LU is doing a huge disservice to its students by inculcating them with ideas that will not win points with employers or associates who are anything but as looney as they themselves are. And as for the questions, if any of the students asking had read Dawkins' book, they would have realized he already answered them. Giving no respect deserves none in turn.

welp, i am attending LU in the fall. but i will agree with you... we Christians have a reputation to fix. for many years a lot of us have been nothing but judgmental and hateful to those who don't believe like we do. i am disappointed in that fact. as Christians we are taught by God in the Bible to love one another. a lot of us don't do that, but a lot of us do. i respect your opinion and in no wise am i'm trying to force my God on you.

I believe the majority of christians are good people and you really dont have a bad reputation compared to other religions. And Im glad you emphasize the point in the bible to love one another. Although an atheist, I derive many of my values from the "good" parts in holy books that contribute to a tolerant society, I hope you see that Atheism is another intriguing way of life, and our people can work together and be friends as you are with your muslim/buddhist/sikh/hindu friend.

If you take a class in say, statistics or calculus, are the "facts" at Liberty different than say, Harvard? Yes, we take the BIBLICAL side of politics which tends to lean more conservatively, and no, we do not support homosexuality - but do we as an institution hate liberals and 'gays,' absolutely not. There is NOTHING in the Bible that tells me that I am to stone anyone, I have been studying it for years. Yes you're about acting more like Jesus, I agree. Endorse maybe a strong word, indirecty support is better. Jerry Falwell did not hate liberals and gays. He was a man of God and was a true Christian. God does not hate gays, He hates their ways. The Bible teaches us that we are supposed to hate the sin, not the sinner. Liberals misconstrue this to mean that we hate those who are not like us. Falwell never discriminated against homosexuals; he never told them that they could not be gay. BUT that does not mean that he did not preach on sin. I'm in seminary at Liberty and there are homosexuals at LU.
