  • I loved this. Great playing, sound and lesson. Do you ever use the Daug or Daug7chord just before ending the phrase?

  • This man knows how to teach!Great guitar player, thanks,"Talk to your daughter" vid is also very very good.

  • Just starting to learn this song. Thanks for breaking it down. I like how you explain the different renditions.

    I like that smokey sound.

    Thanks for the lesson.

  • You look like Serj Tankian, a bit.

  • is everybody in bed and ya doing this in secret in the basement that why ya talkin in whispers lol

  • Fantastic lesson as usual, but why're you hiding in a cupboard? We won't tell, honest!

    Seriously, great stuff thank you

  • I enjoy the playing. Don't mind the explanation as each version is SO different. Thanks for your help. I have know this song for some time but wanted to expand a little bit on the chords and voicing.

  • shut up and play it...you like the sound of your voice..we dont

  • Good job

  • So good! Thanks!

  • jewish blues lol...u talk 2 much...can't play none...

  • good job, almost correct...

  • that is so sweet !!! one of the all-time great songs, as I saw T-Bone at a small club

in S.F. in the late 60's with only 10 people in attendence. what a killer showman ................ thanks for history lesson !! also love Bobby Blue Bland's version.

  • Awesome and very helpful !

  • Nice moustache! (And great song too.)

  • less talking.

  • Is epic :D

  • what guitar is that? really beatiful!

  • Great lesson man! BUT, how come when you show how the Allman Brothers do it at the end, you don't do it in G like you said they do it? It all seems the same.

  • Man, that is cool. What a tune.

  • What kind of guitar is that? Hollow body Epiphone? What is the model? Looks great. Looks like the T Bone Walker guitar.

BTW, where is the rest of the lesson?

  • I love your music and facial hair but,

what's the difference between a hamburger and a beefburger man? I'm English and I honestly don't know. When I was young (-38 years ago) all you could buy was a hamburger. A beefburger was unheard of. Now everything is a beefburger in Spain or Timbuktu. But following your example of hamness I believe you may have a pig's arse point of view.

  • these guys speak to much

  • Go to: Japanese Cavemen in F# minor

  • it's only boring if you're too stupid to appreciate it The guy spent time to show you this and you're bored hmmmm me thinks you're a dope.

  • oh my god so helpful. thankyou.

  • quit talking and play?! Where's a beer bottle when you need one?

  • Dude,i`m sorry but you are boring as hell. You know your stuff, but are BORING!!!!!!

  • David was an instructor at the National Guitar Summer Workshop when I went there, and he had some really-nice things to say about my playing (I was 24 when I went there, and had already been playing professionally at the time - I just wanted to hang and jam with some greats, which I did). I'll never forget the fun I had there. Played with Ronnie Earl, his band, Duke Robillard, Kenny Neal, and other great players over the two weeks I was there. Then I went to Amsterdam for a month right after it.

  • Hey, I remember this guy! He taught at the National Guitar Summer Workshop back when I spent two extremely-sweltering weeks there at the Canterbury School in New Milford, CT (The A/C broke down right before I got there - right at the beginning of a 2-week heatwave - It was so-hot that everybody would retreat down to the local jazz club in town, who had A/C - even the guest-instructors like Ronnie Earl, Duke Robillard, Kenny Neal, etc. - Great time, despite the scorching heat).

  • Have you ever responded to saturnspider? I seem to have T-bone's version in G also. Great lesson. I could be wrong and I enjoyed how you play all three. Thanks again.

  • Good video,I love it. Watch for hot new music from BRANDON JAROD.Great, different sound coming soon!

  • Yeah, I checked T-Bone's 1947 Capitol Black and White recording and both the issued take and the alternate appear to be in G.

  • You say T-Bone recorded his song in Ab but every version I have heard (including his original) is in G. Are you sure you aren't erroneously getting the idea of his key being Ab from a 'running slow' turntable version of a 45 or 78 disc?

  • Great lesson my friend

  • Great song

  • Many thanks for this. It's really kind of you to post it. I think I got most of it the first time, but the walk is too beautiful for words. I want to get that spot on. Many thanks indeed, Phil.

  • ha hamberger

  • THANK YOU, MAN

  • Beautiful song. Thank you!

  • your epiphone sounds great!

  • thank you for this lesson, i been searching for something like this a lot of time on the web. i foun it very very useful

  • @LorenzoBaudelaire I believe Dave is mistaken about the key for the T-Bone version. It's in G. The Bobby Bland version is in A-flat, and you can play along in standard tuning by moving everything up one fret.

  • Yeah, Dave!

  • for the t-bone version i must tune my guitar half step down?

  • Great Lesson! Many Thanks!

  • such a great blues lesson ! keep up the good job ...cheers

  • No matter what the production quality is, this is quality teaching. Thanks for the great detailed lesson as well as the history lesson!

  • Truefire is a great investment, if you are serious about your guitar playing.

  • Thanks Willie! :-)
