  • such beautiful outfits!! I adore Maggie Smith and Bette Davis <3

  • Die Linnet! You are a bitch!!!

  • smon mccorkindale? i am sorry for the bad spelling of the name or do you mean an other actor?

  • Peter Ustinov and Angela Landsbury together, both over the top. What fun.

  • I thought...Linnet was suppose to be British = = sounds like , she's speaking with a American accent here

  • @wincipoet Lynette is supposed to be an American heiress

  • @wincipoet The American actress who played the role of Linnet was Mia Farrow, who was not the best candidate for this role. I firmly believe she should of either been a British actress, or at least been able to do a "British accent." When you have the quality of David Niven, Peter Ustinov, Bette Davis, Dame Maggie Smith and Angela Lansbury, the producers and/or casting personnel could have made a better choice.

  • @HJKelley47 Sorry for the mistake. Mia Farrow played the role of Jackie, not the role of Linnet

  • The guy who plays Simon is hot

  • @snubatubbi he died

  • "My mother was a lady"

"a disposition she failed to pass on to you..."

The dialog in this film and in Ustinov's Evil Under The Sun is fantastic. There are so many quotes to remember...they just don't make them like this anymore!

  • OMG thats who she looks like Tilda Swinton. I couldnt remember the name.

  • Im loving this film so far. Im only watching it cause Bette is in it shes my favourite actress, but I do also like Maggie Smith and Angela Lansbury. :) <3

  • Suchet is a better Poirot, but I'll always have a soft spot for Ustinov's comedic portrayal.

  • i feel bad for linnet actually. she never gets any peace.

  • can't get over how skinny Mia Farrow is ...and her clothes fall off her... she looks better with clothes covering her whole body... she even has a gangly walk.. sloppy. this whole part is over dramatic to me.. don't like her in this part of the movie..

  • @bronteteri Maybe she has an eating disorder anorexia? LOL I mean she's too thin to have pushed that rock over the edge isn't she.

  • Being an Indian, I was pleasantly surprised to find a great Indian actor of the 1970s, I. S. Johar, in a not-so-minor role as the boat Carnak's manager in this movie which is an all-time classic just like the original story. Especially Peter Ustinov (as Poirot) and Mia Farrow (as Jacqueline De Bellefort) were superb.

  • Mia Farrow is about as sexy as a dog dropping. Zero sex appeal. Good actress though.

  • @skylur44 : Did you watch this to see her have sex or to see her act as Jacqueline De Bellefort? I think she did just ***SUPERB***.

  • @777amol Bravo for you!

  • Poirot without David Suchet is definitely Not Poirot!!!

  • good grief --- will someone please hurry up and kill Lois Chiles? The bad acting is killing me! LOL

  • @phlashba She really is dreadful, but she's so pretty it almost makes up for it...but not quite.

  • Peter Ustinov was the best Hercule Poirot!

    d i s p a r u , hehe :)

  • "The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars,

But in ourselves, that we are underlings."

Shakespeare, Julius Caesar (I, ii, 140-141)

  • mia farraow is funny when she's drunk... hihi.. hmmm hmmm hm hm hmhm!!! hahaha...

  • My God, how thick is that makeup on Bette?

  • @antitum Who cares; she's such a brilliant actress her make up is not even an issue.

  • @skylur44 And I'm glad I never met her.She was known to be very difficult!

  • @antitum That's very true. I went to school with her younger sister, Prudence, and she picked us up a few times, I never liked her. She was doing Peyton Place at the time, I found her to be scary and ice cold.

  • @skylur44 And I dont just mean professionally.I have read books about her and psychologically she was..well I dont know how to describe it. I dont think I ever came across another person that matched her personality disorder. She was certainly talented but lets hope she found some peace when she died.

  • @antitum I never heard re any psychological disorders she had but she was one helluva an actress. Matchless.

  • @skylur44 Read the book by her daughter and you'll see what I mean.I'm really surprized the daughter didnt go bonkers with what she had to put up with. But its clear, if what the daughter said is true, that Davis had some sort of personality disorder.Could be Borderline Personality Disorder or something of that nature.I'm not qualified to make that assessment but I'll willing to bet she had something of that nature going on.

  • @antitum B.D, the daughter, has her own issues and I would take anything she said re her mother with a grain or two of salt. Davis always treated her daughter well, she loved her deeply, and this was never a Joan Crawford situation. If anyone has a disorder, it is the daughter, in this case.

  • wonderful cast!! thanks for uploading it!

  • Is that MissMcGonagall as the maid:P

  • @dremeler JANE BIRKIN

  • that bit with when jackie appears with the wind rocked..

  • Peter Ustinov is great as Poirot.

  • This movie is worth watching in order to see Angela Lansbury!

  • I love Ustinov's poirot!

  • horrible acting by everyone (or terrible directing by the directors) nothing compared to the books, if the directors and producers had followed the book then this would be a good movie, I especially hate the part where jaquliline sings ugh it just sound so stupid, she was supposed to be drunk and a lot quieter than it is

  • I think it's funny how everyone rates the comments as 'bad' just because people don't like Ustinov as Poirot.

I personally think he's not the right physical type either - but he's a great actor, and the rest of the cast is wonderful, too.

  • I totally agree.

  • Cristie has something about the Irish. The name Doyle or Ferguson often comes out as one of the characters in her novels. It's just a minor curiosity.

  • Welcome to the Temple of Abu Simbel!

    Said by Mia Farrow!

    The movie's most solemn moment!

  • This is my favorite version solely because of Angela Lansbury.... Monsieur Porridge! bahahahaha

  • mia farrow has a look of tilda swinton about her

  • Love the atmosphere of the movie

  • "I prescribed a course of armadillo's urine! Jaaa!"

    Hahahahahah!

  • Lol, "No, no! That's the river"

  • I'm afraid I will have to agree, Suchet is as much the physical form of Poirot as Jeremy Brett is of Holmes.

  • Thanks for uploading movie.

Anyway, I don't like this version

    It distorted the original one.

And the actor who plays as Poirot...

    .......I don't like him

There should be more suitable actor

  • "This way is better"

"there's a beastly step that I always trip on"

    "no no that's the river!"

    ROFL starting from 6:55

  • haha! yes!

  • what an awesome reentrance for jaquiline! really made my hairs stand on end ^_^

  • Jessica lansbury is so good in this. I thought Frances De La Tour ruined this role for me in David Suchets version

  • Comment removed

  • I don't think he sucks - but Suchet is much, much better.

Love the rest of the cast, though!!!!

  • "There's a beastly step that I always trip on...no, no, that's the river!" lol

  • Simon reminds me a bit of Brad in the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Is it the same guy? Does anyone know?

  • Not the same guy,but very similar appearance and manner. This guy turned up years later as "Manimal",the shape-shifter.Remember that one?

  • @ianwr000 I remember that show. You must be my age.Dont think it lasted long.

  • that is actor Micheal York. He starred in the Austin Power movies and in the cult classic "Logan's Run".

  • Micheal York is not in this movie.

  • now that you mentioned it, this actor is a bit more handsome than Micheal York though there is a strong resemblance between the two men!

The actor is Simon MacCorkindale, someone I am not at all familiar with.

  • I'm reading the book and it's really good!! ^^but isn't jackie suppose to be a brunett?

  • they hesitated to choose her, but they thought she had everything exept the looks to play the role.

so they prefered the acting ^_^

  • Peter Ustinov what a genious!

coould speak perfect german and also french

  • Yes, Evil Under the Sun - PLEASE!!

  • I wonder why they dont have Cornelia Robson in the movie.. she had a rather big role really..

  • I want every one of Linnet's dresses.

  • @magpiepeck , me too. Loved all her clothes.

  • 6:45 Then again it could have been these two women that pushed the rock over?

  • 5:40 my favorite part heheh

  • Jack Warden was a great character actor, able to tackle a wide range of roles. Here, though, he doesn't seem to have based his characterisation of Dr Bessner on Agatha Christie's description, he's rather more reminiscent of Donald Duck's German uncle, Ludwig Von Drake.

  • yeah, i vote for 'evil under the sun!'

  • Lois Chiles was also on Dallas for a season or two.

  • Muchas gracias!! Thank you...!

  • God Lois Chiles is such a bad actress. She wasn't much better in Moonraker either. I think she disappeared after that. Still, she looked great though.

  • a classic.. what a great movie... do you also have Evil under the sun

  • Thank you for posting..:)
