Yes, there are Home Depots in Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and of course the US. I work as a Kitchen & Bath Desiger at the Home Depot and I've seen and heard of a few wacked out returns like people returning:
left over pieces of lumber, mixed paint, half a roll of paper towel, half a bottle of cleaning supplies, appliances with food, TVs, rusted old bolts, car parts, Ace Hardware and Lowes merchandise, over 2 week old dead plants, clothes, dirt, and my favorite used stained toilet seats.
i work in the hardware dept of homedepot, and i gotta say that this is very clever, because customers are always returning ridiculous items that dont belong to the store. They will swear up and down that they got it from homedepot, and the scary ass cashier at the returns desk always calls us in hardware to come solve her problem.....
We do not or ever did have this item in our inventory, and if they decide to raise hell then call a STORE MANAGER!!!! not a dept associate......
i work at wal mart and honestly we see shit like this alot. a customer tried to return an ipod that had been caught on fire and was melted. you couldn't even tell it was an ipod. she cussed out a manager and told him that she was using it and it just caught fire one day. no joke
Then you must be someone who has no life and became a manager or one of those fuckin lazy asses that doesnt do shit and still gets on their gay employee of the month awards.
haha i love ppl returning toilet seats. someone returned one and made it looked like it was still wrapped, but it was saraned wrapped. with pubes in the saran wrap, gross
I buy a drill and then drill throught a bunch of steel or whatever then buy anohter one and put it in the pack and bring it back and say it was dull. works well if you go throught alot of the same size router bits too.
They take alot of shit back because they screw their suppleirs. Home Depot doesn't get hurt by returns. and because they do so much volume of a product the supplier cant say shit to them or risk loosing the Depot as a customer, plus they'll take a few returns to sell much more shit throuth the store.
Why is it that if you are returning something you stole from THD, you must include your mom or grandma in the story?? I don't have my receipt because my bedridden grandama lost it. Leave Grandma out of it! LOL
1- Guy returned powerwasher the next day, and the thing was beaten and painted and etched. Said it didn't run.
2- Custom paint with half the paint gone. Said he didn't need it all.
3- One guy bought and returned 6 of the same trimmers in 4 days. Kept saying they wouldn't start.
4- My favorite... Guy returned a JD Tractor and said it wouldn't run. The guy never put gas in the tractor, and complained that we should have told him it didn't have gas.
It's true. We have a one-year guarentee on all plants expect annuals. I get customers though who think they can return the dead plant without a receipt. Yeah, as if we know how long ago it was bought.
This is the truth. People buy things from other merchants and then wanna pass it as Home Depot's SKU with no receipt. I remember I was in line and one jerkass wanted to return some Harbor Breeze brand ceiling fans, now Harbor Breeze is Lowes store brand Home's is Hampton Bay plus he had NO receipt. The MoFu took 20-minutes arguing with the associate, then with the CSS and CSM that he bought them there with his VISA Card and they should look it up or he was gonna report them to the BBB and VISA.
I worked for Best Buy. Had a lady try to get a PDA fixed because she had the warranty. It had a huge crack in the screen. She told me she dropped it. I said our warranty doesn't cover "accidental damage". She said "Sir I fail to see how this was accidental" and I said "You told me you dropped the PDA. It didn't jump out of your pocket on it's own."
Funny, but it's true. People really try to return that stuff. Whether it be broken or whatever, they want their money. The ones I love are the people who screw up the item themselves yet they return to Home Depot for a refund. Wait...didn't you break it? But we take back everything and that's one reason why our stock is falling.
...And you don't want anyone to mess with YOUR stock, right? even when the company has a return policy that will take anything back with a receipt, even if the customer broke it.
the customers that really wont give up are the customers that try to return the beur custom paint, its says clearly on the label (not a returnable item) yet they keep on bragin about that they dont need it anymore... i remember arguing with a customer for 10 minutes finally until the asm came and told him to get lost..
THD never says no

The funny thing is that Home Depot would allow all of those returns to go through somehow.
