I was traveling the states when I 1st heard this song in 05,just got married in Vegas,it made me think of my Dad in Australia fighting cancer who wanted me to go on the trip and I sort of lost the happy moment I was in. He didn't make it but this always reminds me of him and I listen to this song when I'm down now because no matter how bad things get,someone else is worse off,that's been my motto since then.

Oh and my wife and I are still together of course. Who said Vegas marriage's don't last!

I think you miss the emotion of the version petshopboogie. The very fact that she doesnt hit the notes ( from an artist more than capable of doing so) is the songs backbone. IMHO.

Hello :) I watched this video of yours a day or two ago. It is exquisitely beautiful. I have not heard of Beth Orton, and I found myself haunted by that notion of the 'blue' being taken out of the sky. This song is such a wonderful expression of what happens to our perception when we lose a loved one in some way.
