It's 2011 already, hey Glenn Beck what happened to your end of the world, economic disaster prediction?!?!?!! It's about time to retire you just lost your credibility!
i think nixon was taking part of an elarbate plan for control over the world when he took out the gold standard. I think all of these circumstances are planned out events in "the big picture".
Looks like theories of how the thought process works has gone over your head. My point is that gravity, albeit completely proven and a constant is assumed when its effects are about to take hold of an object..... just like, speaking in pure economics, when the price of a widget increases the consumption goes down, just like when you look at the exponential rate we are belching carbon gasses into the air, you would assume that the ppm in the air will continue to increase.
Thus far you've called me uneducated, unintelligent, Marxian, and partisan. Enough ad hominem?
But you've barely touched on my point, which was explaining why the bailout plan or the Federal Reserve's depositing of money into the economy, etc is a MORAL issue.
I think that the bailouts in 2008 were a terrible idea and the current budget plan will probably cause more inflation, but it is hard to draw a line from a pres causing inflation to that pres being immoral.
Anybody who taxes future generations is very much so committing an immoral act.... don't worry though, the blame can be spread around amongst all members of Congress as well, however, back to answering your point: Yes, if you purposefully or inadvertantly attempt to destroy a currency by debasement you are in effect hurting countless future generations. just like stealing is immoral, this what is going on right now is immoral because the current admin. and congress is taking from future gen's.
1) I don't know what you mean by taxing future generations... My 2 year old hasn't paid any taxes and I still get a tax reduction for having had him.
2) You think that someone doing a bad thing by accident is immoral. I now understand where you are coming from, but I disagree. I don't personally think Obama/Reserve is TRYING to cause an inflation. If I'm wrong and someone IS for some weird reason, then that is immoral.
When will the 65 Trillion dollar actual debt be paid for? Not by your or me..... probably by your 2 year old? Probably by my children and surely their children.... that is, if the currency and governemt still exists as we know it. So yes, they are taxing your 2 year old because this generation will not pay for it but your child and my child will have to pay for it..... get what I'm saying now? We are charging our children so we can have 15 billion dollar floss programs....we're stealin from them
Not only this, but ad hominum tactics are meant to distract the audience from the real argument, however, the words that I used are only descriptors relating to our economic discourse. Ad Hominem? Maybe. Related? Absolutely. True? I don't see anything that would tell me different.
BTW - knowingly creating bread lines for future generations IS a moral issue, and just like stealing from a neighbor is wrong stealing from future generations is morally wrong too. I don't like Fox News and I don't particularly like Glen Beck, but denying what he is saying on this particular video is tantamount to denying gravity.
Glen Beck (and you) is speculating on the future. There is no evidence that the bailouts will or will not work. We don't know if any of this will create/destroy jobs nor if it will cause a more permanent inflation. There is also little precedence for this sort of scenario so unless you've been talking to Miss Cleo, it's hard to tell the future.
...So it's nothing like denying gravity; which has a mountain of evidence for it and hundreds of years of precedence.
You're no good at this one900meat. Al Gore is speculating on the future in his video and when you drop a penny from the top of a building you know, based on your previous knowledge, that it will hit the ground due to the force of gravity - again, speculation. I haven't been talking to miss Cleo but have you been talking to Mr. Marx?
Sorry, but I do not speculate when it comes to gravity! If you think that the law and theory of gravity still require speculation, you haven't read enough middle school science books.
Yes, Gore is speculating on the effects of global warming. As is Glen Beck when he surmises that Obama is going to create a massive devaluation and further economic plunge.
My original argument, though, was that this last ditch effort to fix the economy wasn't an immoral act.
Jesus tells his followers to get rid of all their worldly possessions and follow him and pay no heed to what tomorrow will bring. If you believe that, you should be grateful to Bush for making everyone broke and homeless and jobless, and to Obama for devaluing your money; for they are both following the word of your LORD and helping you to get rid of your worldly possessions so that you may follow Jesus without worry of anything but spiritual things!
I don't understand how devaluation of US currency is a MORAL issue. I didn't think the amount of wealth one has was inter-connected to his morals, ethics, or any other personal standard. Could this be Glen Beck trying to scare the religious right watchers of FOX Noise into thinking Liberals, Obama, etc are evil and immoral people?
He also seems to ignore the first big spike was on President Bush's watch and the current spike is because of the economic bottom dropping out on Bush's watch.
You don't have any business talking about politics if you don't know names of previous presidents (Nixon was called out on the carpet here) as well as the function of government agencies. Glen Beck has blamed no political party - he has blamed the Federal Reserve Bank for printing money. one900meat you are not a very intelligent person and thoughtful discourse is not your forte. Get off your partisan horse and take a remedial economics course.
Number One, he made a mockery of Obama's bailout plan at the end. Two, he made a complete mockery of Al Gore. Three, he ignored all of Bush's inflation - but seems to congratulate him on his 9/11 spend spend plan - so he could jump to the 2009 and beyond inflation.
I don't agree with any of the bailout plans (especially to the Big3), but Glen Beck, like everyone else at Faux News, skews everything so Right wing that he essentially evilizes anything a Dem. does. Fair and Balanced my ass.
