today, Australian politicians will experience a level of performance

they are not usually exposed to; for most it will be an unforgettable

highlight. DEAN FRENKEL SAID THAT..but DEAN,,,did you notice how many times Obama pursed his lips, pinched or clenched his lips during that godawful speek delivery, wooden as could be? WTF?

  • "Guinness World Record for Longest Vocal Note (2005-2009)"

    So, four years?

  • Check out the video of Johnny Mathis singing 'One Note Jonhy' Where does the note while the girls sing. Impressive!

  • For a second I thought he held the note for four years.

  • If he'd stop swaying back and forth his body wouldn't consume as much oxygen and would potentially be able to keep holding the note longer.

  • I just did 59 or 60 seconds, wasn't sure. Now, my "note" sounds goofy but so did his.

  • It starts at 4:25 for the longest note...

  • 41 seconds, I guess choir was worth something.

  • i made 31 sec. :D

  • I think its important to declare what (pitch/frequency) of the note

  • MY vocal teacher can hold a note out for 2 min. His name's Jamie Vandera!

  • I held on for 30 seconds and I'm not even a singer, the old record was BS

  • i can hold a note 37 sec

  • @fiop789 me too ! 37 sec :D

  • @1xXxIceGirlxXx1 awesome! XD :D!!

  • We need to get @NintendoCapriSun to beat this.

  • smoker and beer drinkers can hold longer for some reason...

  • depends too cuz certain notes have to take some work to hold..

  • I would love to beat this record... I could sing a note for 1:20secs or more... :-)

  • @qatarean09 Post a video please! :D

  • i did it longer and im a smoker , believe it or not ...im not impressed

  • @Corporatism Thanks!!

  • dangit I wanted to be witty and comment on the title but people already did that

  • Every second passes like its 5 seconds OR every 5 seconds pass like a second? M confused :-/

  • Comment removed

  • It's impressive, but during the last few seconds his pitch was all over the place. The "experts" listening to this should have said something about it. I don't care what the 'instruments' said. Still impressive though.

  • "deeply relaxed"

    hes high.

  • 5:16 looks like the old lady fell asleep

  • Did anyone else try holding their breath for the whole period?

  • @LiveAndDieWithMusic I did. And i failed.. Epically..

  • Aww, 3 seconds away. He's HALF happy. Oh well.

  • I need this thing as my ring tone :')

  • he sounds like a freakin bug and a flute XD

i also thought a note was at one pitch...not arpeggiated...

  • @superfanofmk Nope, because a note is a set of frequencies. However, he DID hold the same note for the whole time.

  • @skiddlecrumms ah. it just doesn't sound that way XD

  • @superfanofmk Well, he lost it at the end and it was the base not that was staying the same so hearing the overtone changing probably made it sound like was changing notes.

  • @superfanofmk well... blame the weird fishes

  • Eric Adams could do it longer.

  • I thought it was gonna be held from 2005-2009.

    Misleading title.

  • it sounds like those toy hose things you swirl around your head

  • what am i watching that done my box in ...fuck off and get a live

  • Sounds like a someone singing through a pipe.

  • my ears are bleeding

  • it sounds fixed

  • Dude, the monks can kick his ass. They're just not fond at showing off

  • is 2005 to 2009 how long he holds the note?

  • I got to a minute. gimme the trophy

  • Thumbs up if you came here because the title implied that he sang a note for 4 continuous years.

  • my tummy got butterflies through this i think hes the devil

  • i'd like to see him try the held note in Summergirl - The Mayfield four at 3:56 /watch?v=ymMs0bD9w0k

  • Shit my WINE GLASS JUST BROKE YOU OWE ME ONE MISTER!

  • somehow I can't keep in my laugh

  • The title's a bit misleading. I thought he was going to hold the note from 2005 to 2009.

  • @AaronClarity yea so did i

  • @AaronClarity lol

  • @AaronClarity you win 1,000 internetz!!

  • @AaronClarity OMG your comment made me laugh so hard...! xDD

  • @AaronClarity Everyones a smartass =p

  • @AaronClarity Look at when the video was posted...

  • i got to 48 seconds! DAMMIT!

  • i only got to 30seconds

  • It hurt my speakers.

  • HAHAHAHAHA at 5:20 you can hear him dying out

  • same exact note plus that overtone harmonic sound. that high pitch thingy..

  • i think i could do this. seriously. does it have to be the same exact note the whole time.

  • The song of the Siren or The Death Reaper.

  • -Whata fk did I just hear?

  • Fuck, I reached 27.9 secs holding a note and 34.42 practicing a mute exercise... I need more practise =/

  • and i thought tht was a long time

  • I held a note for 31 seconds

  • it sounds like he swallowed a digeredoo

  • @EatMoreCucumbers 50,000 digeredoos!

  • i got to 16 seconds =P

  • Hes not that good. My friend just beat him :p

  • This guy not only played this amazing 56.9 note, but he performed an incredible

overtone singing which is very hard as well!

  • @TheContinentalStudio You're right, he performed an overtone singing which is probably more difficult!

  • What defines a note? Theoretically, expending the least amount of breath possible to make a noise, the longest note should be only a bit longer than people can hold their breaths. Open your mouth wide and make a noise with the back of your throat. Is that a "note"? I bet you could hold that for a freaking long time.

  • Seriously, I am an amateur singer and I just tested how long I can do it... I tried C3 and I kept it stable for 67 seconds and I could do 90 for sure after some practise! If I can be guiness world record holder, tell me and I will go there... But I think 57 seconds is really shit and Im convinced there are better people than me in this thingy

  • From the title of the video, I thought the note lasted 4 years.

  • I have seen Melba Moore live, and she held high chest notes for longer than 30 seconds. Check out her recording of THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RAINBOW.

  • overtone singing, from the tuvans!

  • ok so this is stupid? i just held a note for 46 seconds. im not a singer or swimmer or anything. so id expect the world record to be a lot more then this

  • hes kinda faggot

  • the title makes it look like he held the note for 4 years

  • @TIMEwave0able Hahahahaha

  • does anyone else here the whistling

  • Its like I'm playing MYST and have to remember that sound

  • I do apologize holding your children hostages lol

  • He's doing throat singing... which in itself is difficult to do, but I wonder if it made it easier to hold the note for that long or not...

  • to save everyone the time he starts the vocal note is 4:26

thumbs this up that way people can be saved from 4 minutes and 26 seconds of boredom!

  • @Nevaeh0Evol thanks !

  • @Nevaeh0Evol You saved my life from the shit and boredom, THANX!

  • @SpintoVanity no prob

  • @Nevaeh0Evol fag

  • @silvercivik why the hell am i a fag?

  • @Nevaeh0Evol Thanks!!!

  • @darysfe np

  • what the hell is that whistle?? o_o

  • @verushka22 This is overtone singing, also known as overtone chanting, harmonic singing, throat singing or khoomii , is a type of singing in which the singer manipulates the resonances (or formants) created as air travels from the lungs, past the vocal folds, and out the lips to produce a melody. The art of throat singing has originated from south western Mongolia.

  • @Skydda1 Did you check out the video on here of Herman Hack Bartholomew of New Orleans playing on trumpet "When the Saints go marching in" ? The note he held for over one minute. This was recorded in the French Market outside of Cafe' DuMonde on Decatur St.

  • This is a Sufi vocal technique.

  • Thumbs up if you tried to beat his time while watching this video, and failed miserably.

  • sounds like a retarded fly

  • @80gamer ya mean bieber?

  • @acdcguy100 just hit the jackpot man.. lol

  • ALL HAIL HYPNO TOAD!

  • This guy killed my dog

  • That was not ONE vocal note. He sang a several!!

  • @HomihachiMetal333 It was exactly the same note he just kept opening and closing his lips so it made it sound like it was a different pitch.

  • @HomihachiMetal333 no, that´s because he´s using overtone singing

the overtones change, but as long as the main tone stays, it´s allright

  • Sounds like a martian noise...

  • WOW! lol he held it pretty long! Lol :)

  • my first though was that he sounded like a didgeridoo and then I realized that is how he is able to hold the note...to play a didgeridoo you have to be able to do circular breathing....it would be interesting to see him do it on one breath

  • @loganequality you can't use circular breathing when you're making one continuous note

  • WOW!

  • for those wondering when it starts, it does at 4:30

  • I dare say I could smash that record and I'm not even a singer.

  • lol how can he singlike a robot and play a flute at the same time? that sounds incredible!

  • Is he singing and whistling at the same time?

  • Holy overtones, batman! That was super cool!
