I think it's too soon to know what Obama's Presidency will end up doing. We have to wait at least 4 years to see the results. All these Death panels, hostile takeover, repealing the 1st amendments are just speculations of a future that we do not know of yet.
why when the democrats commit crimes the democrats ignor it butt point out everything they can against the republicans i thought we are all against crime what democrats are two faced.
Oh, you're so right. Obama and Hitler are so similar. I mean they have the same mustache, oh, wait, no they don't. Yeah, and they cut freedom of speech, wait, Foxnews is still on, so, no.
Oh, Hitler was the first black leader, oh, wait, no darn it. Oh, Obama killed 6 million people for their ethnicity and religion, oh wait, no, only Hiter did that.
Saying that opening up phone lines to report your neighbors for "Misinformation" may be unpopular, as well, but that is what happened. That should shake any reasonable person in this country: For the government to set up "tattle lines."
No; I am referring to the website & phone lines set up by the White House on 8/11/09 for people to report other citizens for "Misinformation" about the healthcare reform bill.
This administration is encouraging citizens to report dissenting opinions that they feel are "Misinformation." That is an unprecedented - in this country - move, as far as I know. Hitler did this......as well as institute the youth corp.
I have read all of it. I have read the parts about small bus. owners & the "audits" they will experience IF they do not choose the public option. I have & insure one employee - me. Why is it necessary that the govt. audit my coverage. Additionally, after public option instituted, even though I pay for my own policy, I may not be able to change or modify it after public option introduced. How is that not coersive? I've read enough to let me know it's dogmatic bulldogging to thwart private insur.
You will understand how and why Obama is working with the Rothschilds to destroy America's Sovereignty and force us into a Communist Totalitarian country like China is!
Better than what? Pointing out that reconciliation is a fairly common Senate practice and that Republicans used it on numerous occasions during the Bush administration?
In other words, he's better than pointing out the facts?
i also remember when the dems were going to filibuster the appointment of roberts to scotus, the repubs were going to use the so called nuclear option to cut off the filibuster. the dems had a cow!. now its okay i guess.
The "nuclear option" as it was referred to then, was considering whether to KILL THE FILIBUSTER ENTIRELY! They thought they would have a permanent majority, "so who cares?"
Budget Reconciliation was used to pass bush's tax cuts, but was never referred to as the "nuclear option" until just now when the democrats considered using it.
To sum up the republicans' position: If we change everything to get our way, it's okay. It's horrific if the dems do ANYTHING we don't like.
first point-cutting taxes when we were slipping into a recession is what made it sort. unemp slipped to 7.4% then lowered it to 4.6% in2005. then slipped back into recession in2008.
second point- experience is not a barometer of how well a person will do on scotus. there have been people on scotus who werent even lawyers.
third- so if the repubs filibuster say the health bill that you would agree be heroic?. that we can agree on.
i guess, like beauty abuse is in the eye of the beholder. budget reconcilitian is one thing,to get it passed so govt can continue to operate. the healthcare bill doesnt fit that description.
Containing the public option? You're right about that.
But as a reconciliation to Medicare it can, expanding it or letting people buy-in. Or via executive order for The Federal Health Plan (what Congress and th Prez have).
i would support that. you see the congress critters dont have a government plan. they get to pick and choose their own plan cafeteria style. i want reform like that because that would lower costs by giving the purchase power to the people.
It's not really an issue. The only time you have to deal with the 60 vote issue is if someone on the other side decides to filibuster because they just think it is
sOOOOOO wrong. None of them believe that. Phoney baloney congressional jobs....saved!
Wikipedia list of resolution votes (TinyURL cetq8s). THOMAS system details each bill (TinyURL 27mwv).
On the 2007 College Cost Reduction Act (self-explanatory), McCain did not vote.
On the 2005 Tax Increase Prevention and Reconciliation Act, which prevented certain tax cuts (notably capital gains and dividends) from sunsetting, he voted Yea.
On the 2005 Deficit Reduction Act, aimed among other things at slowing the growth of Medicare and MEdicaid, he voted Yea.

then why were the dems against it when the repubs wanted to try it?. also mccain saved it when the infamous gang of 14 organized.
jhamm999 2 years ago
Against what, the tax cuts, John Roberts, or killing the filibuster?
Tax cuts? b/c cutting taxes at a time of enormous expenditure (war) was unprecedented and damaging to the economy. They were right.
John Roberts? b/c he only had 2 years of judicial experience at the time.
As for the filibuster? Tyranny of the majority is NOT American.
Dabipster 2 years ago
answer the last two.
first point-cutting taxes when we were slipping into a recession is what made it sort. unemp slipped to 7.4% then lowered it to 4.6% in2005. then slipped back into recession in2008.
second point- experience is not a barometer of how well a person will do on scotus. there have been people on scotus who werent even lawyers.

jhamm999 2 years ago
They already showed their colors betw. 2006-2008 when the republicans in congress shattered the record of use of the filibuster.
They don't use it to prevent being steamrolled, and avoid abuse as it was intended. They ABUSE THE HELL OUT OF IT, so NOTHING gets done.
If budget reconciliation gets used, they won't take it as procedural as democrats did.
They plan to play the victim, cry foul, and scream bloody murder, like the emo-bitches they are.
