  • @92vanguard the solos here are much better than those in the scouts regardless of the high E or not. And personally, I prefer the leaner sound of a smaller group on this chart. Not that it didn't work for the scouts, but smaller settings like this one have a different kind of musical energy.

  • zwazi09 has apparently not heard the Scouts '83 version which was by FAR the best ever put into this genre. Those soloists were INSANE. I have a copy of the original manuscript as written by the soloists that year. E above double C in the opening solo.

  • Fantastic performance... like ths scouts, but with better soloists.

  • where's the Madison Scouts version of this from years ago??

  • @kowilkins This is the Scouts 82 version, pretty much note for note.

  • superb!....thank you

  • played this in my college band the season before last. Pretty funny how different it is when played by 400 people rather than 14 lol

  • @jimbear7 Did you go to FSU in '02? I have a CD of them doing it in'02.

  • @TheEuphonator we played it in 08, but yes, I'm pretty sure it was played some time not too long before.

  • by the way, what exactly happened to the production of the second album?

  • thanks for this, SO MUCH!

  • Sooooooooooooooooooooooooup
