Pike was SUCH a "spiritual" man wasn't he.... The spirit of satan, that is.. Immortality, like the gods described in greek mythology, or the gods of isis, Osiris and Horus, or Semaramis, Baal and Tammuz, or Buddism, hinduism, scientology, mormonism, etc, and ALL of them who teach of immortality.. Everyone can be a god according to all of these people. Pike, Crowley, Blavatsky, Maxwell, whoever. Masonry is a religion, ritualistic practices. IF so, then people shouldn't come back inferior slaves.
Hmmm, I would not be so quick to suggest Freemasonry is a religion. It does not have any dogmas unto itself but permits one to adhere to his own faith.
I would be careful to rely on Albert Pike as the all-encompassing authority on masonry. He is even a dubious character amongst masons.
Otherwise, I think you are providing intelligent critical analysis.
@mysteryschool7 Masonry is Universalism. It is a religion, in my opinion, and I have thought this way since before I joined the Craft in 1998. Masonry teaches that there is a God, that he intervenes in our lives; that there is an afterlife, and that good works bring you to Heaven after death. Masonry also teaches that enlightenment is available to all men during life, regardless of what they name God or how they worship him, and teaches that the Craft is one path to enlightenment.
