what people on this site dont payattention to is that the car is hitting a concrete wall that is standing still and for that going at 40mph this car did really good because when you hit anothe car the other car will have crumple zones and it will move or budge n not be a concrete wall.
the dumbass that said he hates these cars never owned one I love mine there great reliable and fast for thier size and they weigh up to 4200 if you get the hemi.
I have touring model an I looked in the door jamb and found a tag that said gvw 4955 lbs. my buddy has a charger with a hemi and his said 5300 lbs. Where am I to look to find my cars groos vehichle weight?
gross vehicle weight rating GVWR is total weight with car, occupants / other load. Curb weight is the actual weight of the car with nothing in there. Google curb weight Chrysler 300. Just over 3700 pounds.
what the fuck what speed that crash test was on that 300C is made of a fucken hell strong ml and ask me about that just the last week i had an accedint with 2007 altima i was at 80 and he was fully stoped and appling brakes i thriugh his car about 60 meter ahead and his car is non fixable cause accident reached the cahcess my 300C needs a bummber, grill, fender fix, headlight.
They are more likely to be trapped in an older car than a newer one. Crashes are getting faster because people are stupid - they think because they have all these safety measures they can drive a little faster, juggle their phone/food while they drive. One thing I liked about old cars is that you could HEAR you were going fast, too fast and it sounded like you were in for trouble. Newer cars max their speedo in almost silence, no shakes or shudders... adding to the idiocy that there is no danger
Think, I drive in Germany at 250km/h with my 300c having sex. Next car will be a Corvette that goes a little faster than 250, then I'll try something new.
hahahah that's the stupidest thing i've heard in a long while.
there is a difference between properly designed crumple zones and a car that crumples everywhere. go learn about basic automotive safety before you spew BS like this.
oh yeah and go hang out with the "no seatbelts" crowd, i think you will like them a lot
Most crashes in the US happen at 30-40 MPH. There are 2 types of test in the US. NHTSA (government) IIHS (insurance companies) NHTSA used to do "head on" crashes into concrete walls. The IIHS test is set up to duplicate the average type of crash at the average speed of collisions (not average driving speed) People respect the IIHS tests more, and consider their results more often, when buying a new car.
You know, the front of the car has to get destroyed as much as possible, otherwise the shock can't be absorbed enough and all the kin energy gets trough the driver.
Having a massive V8 Means there is more metal and stuff to crumple before th wall ends up in they passenger compartment.
This crash test was not bad.
But remember most crashes are between 2 cars. Which means 2 crumple zones, which will mean the energy will be spread out between the two.
In this video all the energy was put threw the 300c. If it crashed into a parked car at that speed there would be less damage.

The car could hit the wall and rebound, then pop back into shape and I still wouldn't buy a stinking Chrysler. Parasites.

@mikenw255 I hope your jap crap speeds up and kills you. You're then fucking parasite.

So we are led to believe, that is why more and more people are getting trapped in their cars after an accident.

What is the speed of car?
Bunchpoland 4 years ago
40 mph (64 km/h)
landstrasse36 4 years ago
Thank you, oh... not so fast speed but crash is totaly!
Bunchpoland 4 years ago
It simulates a 30 mph offset, head-on crash with a similar vehicle. This test is the same one that EuroNCAP conducts.
landstrasse36 4 years ago
DOnt you think that speed of car was not so big but effeteness to big? that huge car!
