A YORKSHIRE soldier who was killed in Iraq was the first member of the newly-formed Yorkshire Regiment to die.
Private Luke Simpson, of the regiment's 1st Battalion, died on Friday when a roadside bomb exploded near the vehicle he was driving, outside Basra.
