  • Cables would of done the job . You could have kept those trees up, BIG TIME.

Sorry, but no reason to have beat those trees down. A pro arborist would have kept em going a long time keeping the "camp" safe.

  • Comment removed

  • Everyone talking about Huskys and Stihls and how long they "last" obviously doesn't know how to run a saw (i.e. running them with dull chains, holding them out of the cut, improper tuning, wrong mix ratio, cheap mix, etc.) They are both really good chain saws. I've never seen one blown up and I've ran both for years. Any "blow-up" is operator error or poor maintenance. Now everybody, please......... SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT WHICH FUCKING BRAND IS BETTER!!!!!!!!!! YOU'RE ALL FUCKING JOKES!!!!!!!!!

  • a real feller would have just dropped all 3 trees into 8 ft wide gap between buildings

  • Why would you cut down one of God's creations?

  • @Bananas21ca "this tree was ready to fall on buildings in a christian kids camp." It was coming down one way or the other.

  • Moving the house easier? NOT! No tree removal crew ever takes time to count tree rings. Sometimes foreman will give estimate of trees age on video from homeowners info, but are always fooled when told true age of tree. I would be dying to know age of each tree as part of job, but like demolishing an old house, you must have to disconnect yourself from what tree huggers and historians would feel.

  • 4:40,"Huskies are way better" that's why the climber is using a Stihl 046? We had a brand-new Husky ,lasted 2 days, and the tank started gushing , took it back, and the dealer said"what do Ya want? theye're junk!" so they ordered a new one, then a the same happened again, so now We just leave it at the shop, the Stihls are'nt much better is what I'm screaming, I remember the days of the MC125SP, and the Homelite WIZ80,1050, and even the XL12. everything has it's advantages and weakness,GOV.LAWS?

  • Cedar cuts like butter, very controllable, easy to work with, try some wateroak down south, HEAVIER than the crane, over the top of tin-can homes...3 Rivers, nasty, half rotted, widow-makers,"husky's are way better" junk.they're all junk now-a-days,old hard-wood logger knows.Plastic crap, made for boys with small arms.

  • @TommyLog33 chainsaws are for boys... axe and a two man crosscut saws , while we are at it so are trucks or anything that makes the job safe and efficient real men use a team of mules not trucks.

  • @mrmonkeybuns I grew-up with axe,file,tree-spade shovel in hand,root-pruning trees for extraction in the swamp, skeeters, snakes, alligator, were My jobextras, all the "boys" at school were to soft, I got kicked-out early, fought Friday nights in the "dirt-ring" for extra cash, now raise 3 kids for 12 years by Myself while sawwing all day, with-out the "saw" them kids don't eat. they're all junk in My opinion,"Man"? ain't nobody can fill these boots.

  • I'm gutting my house, and when I'm working in the attic I get woozy when I look down below and see the floor (9ft down). I also get woozy watching the start of this video when he's at the top and the tree is swaying in the wind... ha.

  • Ray is a friendly guy!

  • Cranes doing all the work..... dont really see what there is to be impressed about here.... Mega dollars worth of equipment .... 25 years ago on long Island i saw guys doing this kind of removal WITHOUT THE CRANE..... NOW THAT WAS IMPRESSIVE!!!!

  • where was the crane when you started...lol huh... let me guess the boss was impatent

  • LET IT RUN DOWN GROUNDMAN

  • Very Impressed Fellas!!! Good Job!!

  • Interesting vid. Good stuff

  • Look, no ear defenders! WHAT? I SAID: LOOK NO EAR DEFENDERS! :-)

  • There's a light fixture on that tree. A light. Fixture. Those barbarians.

  • That looked like fun

  • For the person suggesting to call a tree service company here in Missouri the normal rate is $1,000 U.S. dollars per tree. This cut can save you alot of money if done correctly. I think this video was really intended more for people going to work or already working in the logging industry to use on leaning trees, or otherwise for the tree service company like you suggested to learn from.

  • @tufferenhell There is no "average tree" or "normal rate"

  • at 2:00, did he have is hand over the opening for the cut his bar was in? hello kickback.

  • @onebigmutha A kick back can only happen from the tip of the bar.

  • Its beer 30 - great expression!! Good job!!

  • :D awesome.. planted anymore trees to compensate that beautiful work of yours cutting it??

  • Move that shiity-ass house, don't cut down the trees!

  • How much does something like this cost? Does the value of the wood (assuming it is sold to a lumber company) cover the removal?

  • i want to be a tree surgen!!!!!

  • yea i had my stihl 390 for 6 years and work it every day and it still starts no prob. iv seen guys at work have there husky 357 work for 2-3 years and blow up.

  • @minator3 I have had 8 huskys in my life and all of them have went after about a year or so they SUCK i have 25 year old stihls that will run all day long and i dont care what anyone says sithl beats husky anyday of the week!

  • Beautiful job, guys. I know a lot of thought and experience went into it. Who was the turkey who said Huskies are better? I didn't see his name in the credits.

  • amazing job! all these people bashing the video have no clue how much skill it takes to do that.

  • hum not using a 4stroke chain saw ?

  • LOL RAY middle finger

  • Hazardous Tree Removal by Connolly Crane Service

  • wtf move the house ass

  • bout as easy as a crane job gets,, crane was close, trees were vertical,, not much balancing needed

  • Guess I am just wondering why in the first tree didn't get the use of the crane? And why the chunks otherwise weren't rigged to the ground in some form instead of just letting them free fall. The only cocky thing I saw in the video would be opperating the chain saw with one hand, and your right cocky, gets you dead or critically injured in this line of work so that technique should never be used.

  • @ghomer09 Because time is money. In order to get the price down, you throw chunks down where you can. I'm sure tha they discussed it with the owners. Cranes are super expensive. You only bring them in when you are ready for them. Often times, an experienced climber will put one hand on the trunk, above where he is cutting for stabilization. And to push the gap open as the cut is made. The saw wont kick back unless the tip is getting into the wood. These guys are good. Lots of critics out there.

  • Brian is a bad ass

  • Just wondering, how much would you charge for this removal? I have seen a few trees like this around town, about to take out the whole block...

  • "huskies are way better" hahaha I love it.

  • GOOD DWORK GUYS

  • WOW! ! Tree over the house! WOOF!

  • Nice job, guys....I hope that climber made some good money that day

  • very professional job...my hat goes off to you guys...

  • TAKING DOWN TREE IS A BIT DUMB WHEN YOU BUILD IN THE FOREST, MAYBE YOU SHOULD DESTROY THE BUILDING AND GET THE FUCK OUT

  • @Deadflesh1666 stupid

  • @Deadflesh1666

Yeah, we should only build on open prairie's you stupid tree hugger.

  • @Deadflesh1666

Maybe you should have your ass kicked until you learn to shut the fuck up.

  • @Deadflesh1666 YOU STUPID FUCKING MORON

  • Thank You ! I enjoyed the video, amazing how efficient that was done ! And Stihl and Husky have my vote !

  • infamous talking monkeys are proud that destroy the heritage of the world and men

  • Holy crap you go through 1 chainsaw a year? My last Stihl 440 lasted six years running it balls to the wall 5 days a week slashing. I thought cutting bigger wood would actually be easier on a saw.

  • Good job guys. From the looks of the video it seems you could of just pieced the tree out and loaded it by "hand." After all the crane just laid the pieces down on the ground. Not trying to nit pick. Good job again.

  • Very professional, good job

  • Very good job. Nice to see the crane op let u ride the headache ball, not many will let you do that nowadays due to OSHA rules. Tell brian good job from a 40 yr treeman.

  • @whom9 what OSHA rule specifically are u citing ?

  • @singapore7773

1926.550(g)(2). OSHA would cite them for this, no doubt. If you are going to use a crane to lift personnel, you must prove any other approved method was more dangerous then this, and then the crane must be using a approved personnel platform.

  • @normanmj thx much. what is an approved personnel platform?

  • @singapore7773

A platform that has been designed by ASME B30.23 standards more then likely.

  • @normanmj thx so much.

  • Brian's cuts were all very straight. Damn good sawman. I do aerial work, but haven't had a taste of working in the trees. This looked like a very well done job.

  • There are some nay-saying comments here about how the removal of the tree was done unsafely. None of those picks with the crane were bounced nor did they have a wild swing. This was a professionally done job and deserves good kudos. As for the saw they used? Stihl/Husky/Jonsered.. WTF. Might as well be fighting over Chevy's, Fords, and Dodges. There's a saw for everyone. Spend your money where you prefer.

  • Good job guys! Very well done!

  • Why was the home built so close to it if you were so worried about it?

  • "Lets go home!" "Yeah it's 'Beer:30' " My favourite time of day too ;)

  • Wouldn't it be cheaper to fell these trees normally and let them fall on the building and then rebuild that house? It doesn't seem so big and well built and using a crane costs a lot.

  • good idea with the crane

  • Huskys suck shitl all day

  • are you guys american? looks like it!! just look up and the canadian arborists will be there

  • I WOULD GO WIT A HUSKY ANYDAY OVER A STIHL

  • 0:37 "and if it falls right now,it will hit this building.........wich will be awesome" hahahaa ...i would have said the same :)

  • more video of Bryan please! he's a good boy.

  • ok... in germany we use spider chains to do that job

    Alex

    Firefighter

  • Ok everyone rags on everyone else. i like husky. some care for stihl. who really cares as long as u got the kahonas to get up there and do it

  • Only one man working on this crew, tree climber/cutter, Brian Davidson. I hope he was paid the most. Would have liked to hear an interview with him. Why he does this line of work and how old he is. Not even a close up of Brian . . . shame shame!

  • Only one man really working in this video, tree climber/cutter Brian Davidson. We never get to see a close up of this courageous dude. I hope he was the highest paid. Like to have listened to an interview of him. Why that kind of work and how old is he?

  • i´m going to work with this when i turn 50+

  • ok.... so its been deemed a potential hazard..... what makes this removal extremely dangerous? oh.... the hillbillies on the ground!

  • stihl over husky no if ands or buts, ery1 knows that, even my mom, better quality components bra, had an026 14 yrs still start right up, ur lucky to get five out of a husky, abuse saws too in this line of work, but anyone blowing a saw up in 1 year let alone six mo's is a tweeker, "different trees growing together" and again im gunna have to bust you, there co-dominant leaders, anyone thats read the arborist certification guide knows that, ps its a thuja plicata, i bet u didnt know that either

  • @optimoprime i agree with ya mate,i have a stihl, i hate husky, they`re heavy enuff to pull ya outta the tree :P

  • @optimoprime 026 Stihls are bullet proof.......

  • I work out of a 75 footer every day makes a differentess with how i look at things i would have that tree on the ground fast with no crane we have a 167ft. crane so its there if i need it but with my truck i would not have needed it.good job any way and why does the climber have such a big saw with him for the top half maybe if he had a jonsered he wouldnt have to i ran every saw on market jonsered are clearly the best fastest and most balanced saw there is.

  • My family and i have been in this bus. for 50 years and i have ran every saw on the market and jonsered is clearly the fastest saw most balanced saw and when i work i need speed and balance and why is that climber using such a big saw in the top half of the tree maybe if he had a good saw fast and powerful he wouldnt need such a big one

  • there should be a law that forced this guys to plant 10 trees on national parks for every tree they remove.

  • great work guys stay safe

  • i have a husky and we use it every day starts 3 pull with choke and its 3 years old way more power than stihll they call chain saws

  • Snap cuts dude! Beer 30 for sure though

  • stihl is the best man law

  • if ya blow a saw up in 6 months you doin some thing wronge ya ,i grown up now i like both saws .

  • one handing a big saw (or any saw) like that is a good way to cut your other arm off.. NOT a safe practice... we a ll do it when needed, but those pieces could have been cut with a snap cut and pushed with two hands.. etc..

  • you guys are amazing I would dance like I pooped my pants!!!!

  • be a shit load of firewood in those trees

  • LOL if it falls it would hit this building, which would be awesome*cuts off*

  • damn those are some nice cider too

  • lumberjack fetish

  • very good job

  • i use stihls at work but huskys the way to go for sure more tourque

  • skills and an incrediable amount of trust. That is extreme team work at its best.A BEER HAS BEEN EARNED

  • it depends on what state your in if it is illegal to be lifted up by a crane. New York state its legal, we do it all the time when needed. we have done it in florida, and its legal there..... just depends

  • Brian must be a little deaf, but excellent work... real pro!!!

  • who cares who lives in the house ! u guys did a great job, job well done also thats no small saw hes cutting with takes some ass to work that saw under those conditions ,thanks for posting !!!

  • it would suck if the crane dropped the piece of the tree on the house

  • granted, the crane can easily lift a man, but i think gettin pulled up on a crane is pretty illegal

  • Great Video ! you guys are good, Brian got big balls that's for sure ! Nobody got hurt and you guys get to do it all over again tomorrow.

Always nice to see professional tradesmen.

  • Nice and smooth. I need one of those cranes

  • Huskies are way better.

  • Brian why did you leave so many stubs sticking out?? you should cut them off its dangerous! and unprofessional.

  • @ajrd1980 Depends on style of climber.I leave stubs sometimes cause I climb without spurs on removals.Small ones that have not effect on pruning or removals.i can do this removal without spurs much faster.

  • Thats called working for the pay check ,nice job

  • @1CME90 they did, you punk, and God sent some guys who removed them. WOW you are stupid!

  • @1CME90 God gives christians brains. They use their brains and call a tree service to save their buildings. So they can then pray to God in peace and safety. Was that hard?

  • @1CME90 im sorry but what religion are if you even have one?

  • @1CME90 he's OUR God.. Mine, urs, theirs, everyones. Always will be.

  • Kool!

  • Giant balls needed for Brian's job. Nice job guys!

  • Good work men! Good work!

  • actually stihl and husky is outta the question when you bring dolmar into the mix!

  • @joshuarugg

I am with you. I have a Dolmar 7900 and it saws through any wood like butter. The best saw I have ever owned.

  • Nice work. I guess to me you seem pretty cocky. You like to swing the logs over the building, which if the carabiner failed on the crane you would have to call a roofer, and look like a fool. Which then you would just say it was the carabiners fault, I guess its your business, but you must have put the video on here to get our attention. Just use your head a little more and start using some back ups in case something were to fail. "Climb smart and safe~and we'll see you at the top"

  • if we would've left the trees alone, each one would've destroyed a different building. moving the logs over the building was the only option. the crans and operator were sub contractors we hired, he carries two million dollars in insurance and so do we. caculated risk come with the territory. no person was at risk, because we evacuated everyone in the area before we started the job. we we are not cocky, cocky gets you dead in this line of work. but thank for the comment

  • @RStabbin Dont thank him for the comment! Hes a dick! Mouthing off about nothing. Mouthing off about a situations hes never been in. Keep up the good work Stabbin ;)

  • @KYORKSTR I think what your refering to is the choker not a carabiner.

  • @KYORKSTR YOUR an idiot stop talking

  • @KYORKSTR You're a pompous-ass, poopdick faggot. Go wash your mouth out with buckshot you fucking toolbox. You have no clue about any of this shit.

  • Everyone in our profession appreciates safe proper work keep it up guys.

  • Nice work.

  • A Christian kids camp? You shoulda left it ; )

  • i whould have taken the risk to cut the trees down in 1 piece rather than use a whole day to get it done =)

  • I picked up a Husky and I'm completely happy with it so far. Its a 460 Rancher Landowner model, one question for you all though...does a "safety chain" cut slower then a non safety chain?

Great video BTW, 5 star. =)

  • @DirTyOhGee Yes its slower, but it dosent dull as fast. when you do sharpen it you gotta take down those little safety bumps along with the rakers. (i have the same saw)

  • Thanks!!!

  • ya cutting with a saftey chain is like cutting with a chain with really high rakers.

  • a saftey chain cuts alot slower, but his has more kickback when useing the tip

  • you must know how much it weighs before cutting ahy?

  • What are you doing with it? I bought a second hand stihl 660 and it hasn't missed a beat in 3 years.

  • well done from the uk guys, job well done.

  • Nice job boys!

  • you guys make it look easy...good work.

    safety first !!!

  • haha at 4:40 the guy says hunskys are better and stihl sucks? hahahahaha. stihl beats out husky in reliability any day.

  • Husky sucks!!

  • you're crazy, i'll blow a stihl up in 6 months, i get a year out of a husky every time, i'll been doing this shit my whole life.

  • @RStabbin if you only get a year outta any saw your doing something very wrong.

  • You must not be takin care of em if their life span is that short... just sayin

  • @RStabbin u guys tell those lies but why are the only saws i see there are stihls

  • @RStabbin isnt tht a stihl you're using??

  • @RStabbin probably cuz you run it lean and like a retard. grow up and realize stihl is the best fucking saw there is.

  • @beermandan420 ya well atleast I don't have too pour hot water on my Husky to get it ito start last guy I knew with a Stihl purposfully left it behind the skider because it was a pice of shit and only 6 months old

  • @sirkiller07 i live in florida, so i dont have to pour hot water on shit to start anything.

  • @RStabbin idk what cheapo husqys your using but they must be the home owner grade saws. the pro husqys cannot be beat bro sorry.

  • @joshuarugg Youv'e never used Husquavarna right? They make sweet saws. Stihl are next best thing.

  • @joshuarugg Husqvarna saws are top notch. Then maybe Jonsered a close second. Stihl is in the top 5 but is nowhere near the saw a Husky is

  • @joshuarugg, stihl and husky are great saws, its just personal preference which one your more comfortable with.

  • @joshuarugg

you're the smartest person to cmment and i whole heartedly agree with you.

  • Pretty awesome.

  • This is what i do for a living

  • nice job. watch some uk vids by recoats if u like this. climb safe:)

  • I wonder how much they bid on a job like this? If I was to gesss it would have been like $5000 to $6000 including all the equipment and the labor?

  • "this tree was ready to fall on buildings in a christian kids camp. "

    good :)

  • You must be a Liberal.

  • Let me guess goofball , you wouldn't want the tree to fall on a terrorist kids camp where they suck mohammed's dick !

  • lol no it can fall on stupid twats who force their opinion and believe what they are told not what they think

  • lol i would

  • man, I was clinching my teeth just watching the vid....that seemed to have been a really tight spot in order to have a crane come in. nice job!

  • its ok job a yea it takes balls 2 do some like that i cleared power lines before n its no fun but its a job any budy needs a tree trimer

  • experience counts for everything these guys aren't rookies it takes balls to do that if you critiize that you aint got any

  • A great job.

  • well if u ask me the guys felling this tree shud have a little more copon and at least wait till the wind has died down. Especially when the whole reason for felling in the first place is " the stems are spliting away from oneanother ! " And im sure Felling was'ant the last option they had. If they did indeed have to go, then i suppose its not a bad job. I assure u Tree surgery is alot more satisfying. Oh yea, try wearing ear muffs next time, all u hippo jockyes !

  • $5,000 job and How much for the crane? I guess about 2k for crane so after about $600 for the crew you profit is about $2,400...hows my aim? Very nice work guys.I dont hold with prior posts of cutting chest level or no ear and eye protection. If you get cut that the time to get out.hard hat and glasses ok if you can handle the sweat drippin the rims.

  • Let's see,, at 4:00 not only does the climber use his saw above the chest and at throat level, but he uses the saw upside down when sparring.

Saw kicks out and your dead.

And,, it's impossible for the bar oilier to work properly when upside down..

I would fire this guy immediately.

  • Instead of the needless third grade insults, try next time to refute my claims concerning your ignorance in tree removal,, rather than hurling childish unpleasantries.

Otherwise, by doing so,, It merely proves my point all the more --and displays your insecurities along with your incompitence.

Try again, this time,, stay on topic- and logically contest my challenge...

    Thank-you....

  • I always love it when they cut down trees and build houses. Beer thirty I hear that!

  • The trees are in a christian kids camp. Wouldn't god look after them and protect them from the trees falling on them?

  • No God is too busy protecting them from the catholic priests.
