assur was the north of iraq and part of syria : iraq was consisted of too many civilizations and they all were Iraqi , sumer Akkad Babylon ashur : these civilizations were born in that land and we are talking 5000 b.c, go figure how many of them rose and fell and how many were invaded by their neighboring civilizations !
Mesopotamia means the land of the two rivers and that is iraq only. Assyria was syria and the north of iraq. Iran was persia. The lavant was syria lebanon jordan and palastine.
Nice video but you made 1 mistake. 1 Big mistake. The People at 6:26 are Assyrians and dancing assyrian dances not dabqa. And you wrote "special dance done bei kurds called dabka". the kurds do not dance dabqa... Dabqa is arabic dance culture.
Assyrians are from Mesopotamia and Mesopotamia is divided into 4 parts Iraq, Syria, Turkey and Iran. Iraq is only a part of Mesopotamia. Assyrians are from all over Mesopotamia esp. the northern Part
Thanks for this! As an artist it is so easy to see now how the cradle of civilization has had such an influence on the art and dress of other cultures. This video makes me want to study the art and architecture of this region more closely and I am more than saddened by the thought of all the loss incurred in the last 8 years.
mmmm lovely food :p And i am kurd. We dont call our dance dabkka ? Dabkka is arabic :s are you sure that they are kurds on 6.26 ?
