The way I think I might have unlocked another avenue of escape from porn is to remember the link between the porn industry and abortion. Considering all the birth control administered to the employees, there's bound to be a few who wind up pregnant. If the porn star is pregnant, then they will not be able to work, which means less money for the producers. The producers, then, will want to be sure the pregnant porn star has access to abortions. Frightening logic, isn't it?

He has a good point with stimulating the mind, because that is what happens with addiction and why it is often agreed upon that addiction is easy to replace with another kind of addiction. The trick to breaking free is to find a different addiction, one that has mostly good effects and not bad.

In recovery, there are Sex Addicts Anonymous (SAA) and Sexaholics Anonymous (SA); the first calls on the memebers to define their own boundaries and the second makes the marital relationship the only arena for sexuality, so there is no permanent "monking out," unless you are unmarried or gay in SA. In SAA the "outer circle" contains all that mental stimulation you mention--all the good things in life that compulsive sex is eclipsing.
