@biendelfin Hi, we used a supercharger off a Toyota 1GG-ZE, also known as an SC-14. To get the power that we wanted, we ran it overdriven, using a gilmer drive setup. I'm glade that you liked the video, and let me know if I can help you with anything else, regards, Glen.
@devo4g63 Hi Glen, this sounds like a project i would like to give a go on my 4g54, can you tell me what parts were needed and the steps for installation if you don't mind. Excited to see how much extra power i could make with this. Thanks again. Andy
Mate TUFF little unit you have their!!!! What box or trans are you running to cope with the torque your making?? Also I'm currently throwing lost of money at an original 4g52 sigma turbo block, Just wondering where did you get your cam from, Knowing its a race car but... Is it a pig to drive after cam shop, looking for a good reliable source of info to steer me in the right direction. Cheers Dale Adelaide.
@Mitsdat Hey Dale, sounds like a good project that you have going!!! I ran a Sigma 4 speed manual box (No shit!) And it's lived to tell the tale! The Mitsubishi gearboxes are very underrated, that said, I have a spare Starion box, if I need it. With regard to cams, give Clive @ Clive cams a call (03) 9758 5977, and tell him Glen (Who worked with John at Sundown engines) gave you the number, the guy is an absolute legend! The car does go really well, and accelerates REALLY hard on bitumen!
@Mitsdat If you need any help, I am more than happy to give you a hand with things, as I have been doing Mitsubishi stuff for a few years, and always like to see another tough one come to life! I also have some bits and pieces, like new hypereutectic pistons, bearings, gaskets etc, if you haven't built your motor yet. One of the most important thing, with these motors, is getting the breathing right, for this, it is worth getting a TS Magna head (As I have used)
Im going to go through with my project and put a 6G72 into a 1985 L200, Just wanna ask you something - How the f#$k do I get passed 210kph Mark with the current Magna ECU. There govern so 210Kph is max speed, Not that i need to go that fast but hell with it i want it removed.
Hi again, I'm not aware of Magnas being speed limited, and in any case, the speed limiter would rely on a speed signal generator, which is really only used on cars that have a combined engine and transmission ECU. My suggestion would be to look at an early manual Magna V6 ECU, or one out of a manual NJ Pajero, as they are definitely not speed limited. Another option, is to use a Delco ECU out of a Commodore, they're a very well designed, and easy to adapt. Good luck, and keep in touch!
Here's the thing, To get me L200 running fine @850HP at the rear wheels i need to polish main journals and just installing new main bearings every 6 months, Also the heads flex so would need to get them feeled in or use some type of copper Oring around the gasket piston holes.
It can be done with a 6G72 SOHC - its the only motor i really know how to work on but whats the 3.8L engine like>? I dont have much cash but maybe it would be better and would it bolt in? Or need a mod>?
Yet Im not impressed, Why dont you be the first to put a Genuin 6G72 3L (pajero motor) Into a Scorpion and have it twin Turbo. Or even better If you really want to impress and earn the right of KING OF MITSU then Pump a L200 full of V6 powered 3.5 DOHC with a Super charge???
Hi RD, I've played with the Mitsubishi V6 motors quite a bit, and have found they have a number of problems at high power levels. Unfortunately, one of the problems is the crank bearings being too narrow, which makes them have a tendency to overload the bearings, at power levels a modified 4G63 can handle with ease. I'd love nothing more, than a Mitsi V6 with a Triton gearbox in my Starion (The 8A80 V8 would be even better!!), but they just don't hold together. I'm glade you liked the video.
@roydriver74 Hey, with your main bearings, toga make high performance ones that are sold in the US. I haven't heard or seen any problems with the combustion chambers fluttering at high cylinder pressures, I know 308's have this problem, and the fix is to weld buttresses above the chamber (not an easy job!). If you O ring the block and use copper gaskets, you will get an excellent seal (especially if you get matching grooves cut into the heads). I have some brand new HD 3.8 blocks cheap....
do i have to have a supercharger to get the motor sounding like that well its the exhaust that is doing it 3" straight through exhaust if i would just put a 3" straight through exhaust would i get sounding like it is in the video lol just wondering my 4g54 is fuel injected
Hi again, to get the same sound as my 4G54, you'd have to have a similar setup. An exhaust by itself isn't going to do it, and to be honest, is going to sound really ordinary. If you want a similar sound, but can't or don't want to go down the same route as me, then a big cam with an exhaust and ECU upgrade, can make it sound a lot tougher. At the end of the day, it won't have the really angry sound that you get with a well set up blower. Remember, the motor is for sale!!! Regards, Glen.
hey yeah i rerember you wanting to sell it to me but im in brisbane lol but yeah ill just get a big 3 inch pipe just so it can sound louder and yer extractors and big cam and ecu thanks for da advice
Hi all, this motor is for sale, so you could be the luck new owner of one tuff 4G54 motor! It comes complete with everything to make it run, except fuel pump, clutch, alternator and starter motor (I can supply these items, at extra cost). The motor is a narrow block, and suits FWD or RWD applications, with the appropriate gearbox (I have a jap type four speed, that you are welcome to have for free with the deal). Please message me, if you are wanting your Mitsubishi to go really well, thanks.
holy fuck i cant belive 4g54s can be supercharged lol i know you can put turbo into them but fucking hell this is crazy shit and rear wheel drive lol fuck yeah ...
As you can hear, it runs pretty well and that was cracking the throttle a max of about 8mm at the throttle body!!! We have found that a supercharger suits the 4G54 a lot better than a turbo, as the motor has a very long stroke. We can also run HUGE cams, which helps clean out and cool the combustion chamber. Thanks for the comment and i'm glade you liked it!!!
I'll try and dig some more videos up, i have some still photos of the motor and other parts, but not so sure about vids. The motor i used is out of a TR Magna, and i might have some more bits and pieces around, if your interested. I would also sell THIS motor, for the right price ;-) PM me, if you're interested in any bits and pieces, also nice choice on the fuel injected manual Magna, when you want it to go hard, give me a message. There's no need to go to a Honda VTEC motor, as you can hear!
This video was taken on it's second start up, so we were still tuning, hence the near stall out & smoke (Both oil & Fuel smoke) and the cap was off because we were filling/bleeding the cooling system. Thanks for your comment and watching.
We are not 100% sure, because we took it to a dyno competition and the dyno operator was worried that it would self distruct!!! (I think that he was just scared of it, by the expression of sheer terror on his face, when i pulled up). We worked out on a friends computer simulation program that at 21psi, it should be putting out about 450rwhp, but it feels like a hell of a lot more when you are driving it!!! Thanks for your comments & watching.
They put out a little more power, when you run an over driven blower, a huge cam, mass head work, 3" straight through exhaust and Methanol injection (As well as heaps of other mods that i can't remember) LOL, long live Mitsubishi!!!
help!!! where can i buy a performance headers for a 4g52 engine??
vonzen 4 months ago
I had a TN Magna with and wanted to bolt a SC14 onto it but the FWD config didnt leave much space :(
intheshitter 1 year ago
@intheshitter The only way is to remove the air conditioner, and mount the blower there. It makes a BIG difference in performance!!!

i have changed lots of parts to it
so far im getting a new timing cover belt and an exhaust extractor
anyways
i would like to see more videos of this supercharged sigma

Why was the radiator cap off?
450HP is pretty good for a four banger.
