I have a bearded dragon and he is about 14 inches, and about 1 1/2 years old. He is nowhere as big as the one in the video. Is there a secret on getting your dragon so big?
Part 1. How often do you handle him? Godzilla has been handled basically since birth, first by the pet shop owner where I bought him and then daily by me. The more you handle him the more comfortable he will be being handled. Try doing it every day for a short period. Gradually increase the period and reward him with a treat when he's calm in your hands.
Part 2, If you are handling him a lot, and he's still like that it may be his personality. Double check the temperatures in his tank to make sure they are at the correct levels. Do you have a strong UV source? I noticed a HUGE difference in Godzilla's behavior when I got him a better UV light. :)

That is mating and/or territorial behavior. Godzilla only turns his beard black when he's distressed, so no black beard is a probably a good thing. As for the others, I don't know if they are _supposed_ to do that. I think girls tend to wave and boys tend to bob. There's a lot of good info on the Internet. Try bearded dragon dot org for a start. :)

It's strange, Godzilla hardly ever bobs his head. Does your beardie ever wave his hand? I think part of the behavior is naturally instinctive, but also needs to be stimulated by other beardies. :)
My beardie generally doesn't do much besides puff up his beard and body and nose at the glass of his cage thinking he can get out somehow if he keeps it up! He makes me laugh daily. I have seen him wave his arm a FEW times in his adult life. He's a few weeks short of being a year old.
They certainly have individual personalities. Godzilla has never waved, but I think that's more of a female habit. Godzilla used to paw at the glass repeatedly, thinking he could get out. He's in a large enough tank, so I just chalk it up to pent up energy. :)

Theres mercury vapor bulbs that produce heat/uvb. Check those out if anyone is looking for a combo.

a proper diet with adequate heat/uvb should allow them to fully grow. Mine is only a baby, but i hope he grows to be about 2 feet.

PS UV is different from the heat source. You can buy UV bulbs that also generate heat or that stay cool.
