  • grazie di aver messo questo video!!!

  • bellissimo come "spingono" gli archi *-*

  • awesome! and dont worry they're not sight reading it. not that it would be that hard, but they need to play it together at least once before a concert. its not easy either! and its at Scala. I'm pretty sure they wouldnt wing it, as Im sure you knew while joking about it. nevertheless, outstanding performance! and that cello sounds like a million dollar cello!!!!

  • You're right. Man that cello has depth!!!!

  • @bosneageorge

more than 1 ... the players estimates it around 2.5M$. :)

  • i think there sight reading:D

  • Outstanding!

  • yea ur right

  • @tedgoh Which particular errors were you thinking of? I can't find a fault with it...

  • @mwallaby 5:10 and 5:24 for starters

  • Great interpretation :)

  • im playing an arrangement of this piece for 1 cello

    and its really hard

  • where can i get the music sheet?

  • @athloen64

i dont think you can. the sheet music is from the old russian times maybe the soviet era i dont know.

but its one of those rare but great pieces. like the romantic piece by davidoff. shaporin scherzo and songs, piatigorsky's 'shostakovich & prokovieff in moscow', or rare paganini violin piece arrangements for cello.

they exist. the internet wont find you anyhting but commercial stuff

  • @watcherusdt the sheet music is on imslp.org

  • @athloen64 you ahve to go at IMSLP. It's a site in which you can find a lot of score. Look for the composer name. There it is.

  • for one cello? how are you doing that? I also play the cello and I'd love to know how to do that. Is there sheet music available?

  • Haha

  • Un pò stonatino Brunello! Ma Zimmermann... uao!

  • Zimmerman, Zimmerman, Zimmerman!

this is my ideal interpretation of the last variation

  • this is just great

  • holy crap he has a head for a scroll!! the cellest ds! i wnt 1! it prob. cost a fortune though:{

  • It is one of the best version of Halvorsen's piece.

  • Brunello è un GRANDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • it was originally for the violin and viola to show the contrast, both similarities and differences for both intruments,a test of limits for most, but as easy as conversing only with instruments for others.

I think it suites cello as much too,the transcription works perfectly well, and it sounds much more bassier, and if you close your eyes during the earlier part of the piece, you might have a feeling its the same instruments playing the melody. Wonderful fuse and interpretion!

  • originally is for violin and cello... then was transcribed for viola :)

  • god yall are both wrong! Jesus, it's handel! It was on a harpsichord!!!!

  • yes i know perfectly, but we are talking about the arrangement by Halvorsen. Jesus!!!

  • oh, well that's not originally as you said so you can understand the confusion!

  • well maybe... but in the title says: Handel/Halvorsen. so...

  • could somebody share with me the scores for violin and viola, please?

    I love it !

  • Zimmermann is just magnificent!

  • Actually the ORIGINAL original (by Handel alone) was for Harpsichord. I'm learning it on piano cuz there are no Harpsichords anywhere in my area.

  • it was orginally arranged for violin and viola-GLXLR

  • love it this is the only recording that i have found were i fell that the cello can actually replace the viola wihout a major loss.

  • i feel the same way (although i still prefer the violin/viola original). besides the obvious octave displacements in the cello version, part of it is that the cello just isn't as nimble in the runs. also, i think the contrast between the sonorities of the viola and violin suit the piece most appropriately.

  • i agree

  • Wait. So was this written by Halvorsen as violin/viola or cello? I keep getting the impression that it was written for cello originally.

  • W00T!?!?!? Where? Gimme!

  • This is art.

  • Thank you very much, this is amazing. Thanks for adding so many videos of FPZ.
