My Shiba learns tricks very fast she knows sit, lay down, stay, and shake a paw and she is less then a year old. The problem is that she chews EVERYTHING. She has chewed through dry wall, books, tables, the staires, EVERYTHING! Anyone else have a Shiba that chews? What can I do to stop it?

I agree, you can't just decide that on a whim just because they're cute. Important key to an owner is 'responsibility'.

Vet checks, rabie check, home, neutering, food, water, love and most important.. TIME. Money doesn't quite matter to me at this point but they are money munchers.

Our Shiba was best in her class. She knows a LOT of tricks and everything she learned VERY quickly. We could literally show her something 3 times and she would have it down. Like sit, lay down, shake, roll, over. She LOVES learning. Ours is also VERY much a lap dog and LUVS to cuddle. She is 8 months now.

yes i certainly agree. i own a shiba-inu and took her for training, where the trainer essentially gave up on her while she was a puppy. People must understand that these dogs are quite independent, and most definitely think for themselves. Cute as they are, they are not lapdogs and love the outdoors. They are a wonderful breed in any event :)

please do not get a shiba inu if you are not responsible. shibas require a lot of work and attention so make sure you are willing to give them that before you get one. great dogs, have an 8 year old red sesame male and a 2 year old red female.

Joey, he isn't selling them. This is a tribute to the world-wide phenomenom, one puppy cam set up by their owners so they could could an eye on them from work. The public found the webcam online and there have been millions of viewers. Many of us watched these pups grow and play for many weeks because of the unselfish sharing of the dog owners. The owners sold or gave them to friends, not anyone who found the webcam online.
