Definitely no comparison between the two. One is a professional and the other just does it for fun. I'm learning how to bellydance and have been doing it regularly for the past year. I would have to say most of what Shakira did was in the beginner classes and videos that I've had [i.e. doesn't take much talent]. Rachel Brice is amazing; a true professional [i.e. someone with talent and years of dedication to her craft].

Shakira is amateur at best. It's not that her moves are *bad* or anything, but she does what any beginning belly dancer can do.

Rachel is hands down the best Tribal Fusion belly dancer. Now, if we did a Sadie and Rachel comparison, since they're both so good at isolations, THAT would be something to see.

There are many ways to belly dance ... Everyone has their own style.. Rachel is tribal belly dance... and Shakira is more a pop belly dance...I l know a couple of Gothic belly dancers .. they are All different.

no hay forma de comparar a rachel y shakira, rachel es una experta en sus bailes tan solo hay que ver sus movimientos son en realidad todo un arte en cambio pobre shakira no sale de sus mismos movimientos, a mi punto de vista shakira solo lo hace para llenar huecos en sus conciertos ademas la diferencia entre una y otra es abismal... definitivamente me que do con rachel que en realidad es grandiosa!!!

las dos son buenas,,pero el destino de cada baile es distinto,,uno es para show masivo,,q es parte accesoria de su espectaculo,hablo de shakira,, el otro,,el de rachel,va dirigido a otro publico,,espectaculos mas chicos, para bailar por el gusto de bailar, mientras q shakira,vende musica,el baile es extra y delicioso para mi,,,

Okay...none of them suck..shakira is a very good belly dancer and so is Rachel Brice...they just have different styles...shakira does Arabian Belly dance and Rachel does Tribal Fusion belly dance...i Love Rachel brice she is amazing at Tribal fusion....I prfer Rachel but that doesnt mean you have to hate on Shakira either....r_r

"Good Charlotte" tan solo por el simple hecho de que las dos bandas utilizan ropa negra...!! y pues opino que para hacer una comparcion es mejor ser muy cuidadosos al escoger los temas, artistas o generos a comparar, para evitar herir susceptibilidades..!!!

I think they are both great performers. the difference ppl forget is that shakira is obviously a better singer than RB and RB is a mutch better dancer than shakira. Plus Shakira studied bellydance with bozenka wno is in her own right a fantastic dancer but dances in a completley different belly dance style.

Yeah, the styles are different, yadda yadda, but Shakira looks like a beginner compared to her.

Take one or two elements, like control and level of isolation, for example. Shakira just graduated Bellydance 101 while Rachel is writing a PhD thesis.

Which is totally expected since Rachel is a professional dancer while Shakira is a singer/entertainer.

Can't compare, ones more Lebanese belly dance. . . the other is tribal fusion. I mean, tribal fusion is more of a India inspired cabaret with yoga infused....while the Lebanese/Egyptian style is a more all improv tight bodyied dance. Not as strenuous as tribal. It's all apples and oranges. Love them both.
