Don't get me wrong. I just got off after a week to Nassau, St. Thomas and St. Maaren and I had a great time. I loved the ship but I thought it was over crowded and a bit miserable getting off at the ports. I'm happy with the older smaller ships.

I dont know about any of you guys, but i have never really been impressed by carnivals ships main pools. I do know there is waterworks area but it seriously seems like the main pool is just to small.

@ramblin1234us i went there on July 2010 and i can tell you its spectacular! as for your kids they can go over the kids club. although the word 'kids club' may seem like a childish place its not in fact its from 10 to 16 if i'm not mistaken, trust me they'll have a blast there!

when i say she i am talking about my 6 yr old daughter! oh and i forgot to tell that one day someone pooped in the water slide/play area so they closed it for 4 or 5 hrs and then someone threw up in the pool so they drained it and cleaned it and then filled it back with ocean water!!! i forgot to mention this was our first cruise...what a hell of a way to end it...my poor baby girl had all of those thing happen to her!!!

continued....while on the dream she got pink eye(my guess is from camp carnival)she also got lice(either from camp carnival or from getting hair braids in freeport)and the day after we got home she got the stomach bug(i bet it came from the ship too) we called her doctor and he said cruise ships are bad for getting people sick cause u r in such a confined space...we kept our hands washed and sanitized the whole time!!! i dont know if i will ever go on another cruise after all of this!!!!

i just came off a 7 day cruise on the carnival dream! it is a beautiful ship and everyone that works on it are friendly and will help you with anything you need. i do have a few complaints....the pools are way to small for the amount of passengers on the ship and they fill them everyday with ocean water....in my opinion that is not as sanitary as a chlorine pool!

Sorry to get back to u so late. You are absolutely right, owning islands has nothing to do with the ships, I was just making a point that RRCL's overall company priorities are more geared toward the passengers enjoyment. If u haven't noticed the Carnival ship design concept is of inward focus. What this means is that they do no focus on views of the ocean, they focus instead on the Vegas approach.
