Never have i seen a video move me like this one, I dont view anyone as a ''blank'' American, just an american, when is this world gonna wake up and realize we are all the same regardless of color or origin, i have hope in my heart for all, i love EVERYONE, open up your heart people, you'll be shock at what you find i hope everyone can change to become one world united, instead of fighting and racial wars, i love you all and i have hope in my heart, peace from Las Vegas NV, wtg SharonCobb love ya
Actually, the most discriminated against sector in society is everyone's whippin' boy...the white male Christian. We're fair game and there's nothing we can do about it. I grew up being brainwashed into believing that every failure of any minority was in some way my fault...despite the fact that my family didn't have indoor plumbing until I was a teenager, and our family never took a nickel from a fellow taxpayer.
Now you have a Marxist president to make all your wildest dreams come true!
Hey Sharon, I was deeply moved by your video. Im a 26 year old hispanic american living in Nevada. I've had several racist experience in my time. My grandparents and I cried the night Obama won becuase it reminded me of stories my grandparents told me about experiences living the south during the 1960s. Walking past signs in front of local businesses that says "No Blacks or Mexicans Allowed".
The night of November 4th really showed us as a nation how far we have come.
Unfortunately, Hispanics are the new group to hate, and I hope President Obama will stop it before the hate groups get powerful, again.
I'm in Nashville, and we just had a vote here on "English Only." Surprisingly, and happily, it was defeated, but here in the South, it's not good for Hispanics.
But I have hope. I never thought I'd get to see an African American in the WH, and that gives me hope for Hispanics and women and other minorities.
Your video deeply touched me. I am also an Obama supporter that did document my entire election day experience. Thank you for this video and your thoughts. (hugs) YES WE CAN, AND YES WE DID, finally!
Barak Obama was in Jacksonville, FL (where I live) the day before the election and I was among 10,000 people who heard him speak...about 50/50 black and white. It was a moving moment in our town's history that I never thought would happen in my life time. Where there once was fear, now there is hope.
Hey, we are on the same side of the house. The work for us has just started Sharon. We now have to be as big of a support for our new President as we were getting him elected. But that is only part of the job, the responsibility. We have to hold every single person accountable. You have the audience, you have the vision, you have the time. Put it to work and you can count on me to be there with you. Great video, but it is just a start. I have to be there with you. "True elegance to the same!" -G
As I write this, CNN is playing MLK: Words That Changed A Nation and reading the NY Times op-ed piece from David Brooks "A Date With Scarcity" "Were probably entering a period... in which smart young liberals meet a stone-cold scarcity that they do not seem to recognize or have a plan for. In an age of transition, the children are left to grapple with the burdens of their elders." I sit in the dark right now drinking coffee and wondering about our plan. What will it be, our plan? Our ideas?
I'm a 21 year old Multi-Racial (African American included) female. I've never really been the ambious type, and admit in the past I never really aspired to do any more than what was necessary...but after last night I have a new found drive, hope & excitement about the future! We all are capable of achieving greatness!

BTW, I love the quote you posted! Do you know who the author of it is so I can post it on my blog? Thanks!!!
Thank you for the kind words. For the first time ever I can look at a young black man like yourself and say, "Yes, you can," and actually mean it.
May your children never know what it's like to know what was...I pray past tense...what it was like for a black man in this country. If you ever have children, you can now look at them in the eyes and tell them, "Yes we can!"
im a 19 yr old black man in this country and i wanna thank you from the bottom of my heart b/c people like you and my mother have fought for a better tomorrow for THE WORLD. this video brought tears to my eyes. you and everyone else will always be mentioned when i speak of this to my children because you fought for change. thank you and god bless
Thank you, janji. I debated whether to post this or note, but the moment meant so much to me, that I though it was worse risking like a fool to remain a part of this. This is so special, and it still feels unreal. But it's great!!!
Thank you for sharing your story, too! We can do this. Yes we can.
Im a grown man of 35, and the moment cnn announced that Obama won the election to be the 44th president of the United states, I shall say with no shame, I cried tears of joy. Not an American by the way, its just what he signifies. An agent of peace for the world.
Well now were all crying.

Hi Stacy,
Thank you for your kind comment. I'd love to see your video of election day.
I knew it was going to be emotional, but it just bowled me over--in a good way!
And, yes we did!!! I will never forget how I felt Nov. 4, 2008.

Hi (the other) Sharon,
I'm so glad you got to see him in person. He's so regal, and Michele looks like a queen.
I bet Jacksonville will never be the same!
And yes, the era, or should I say "error" of ruling with fear is over and hope is here!! Yes We Can!

When I saw your video, I couldn't believe you and your lovely bride were doing the same thing I was!
Obama has the weight of the world on his shoulders. It's such a shame he has to clean up after Bush and not just implement his agenda.
But this election was the most stunning victory this country has seen in decades and it's really good to have hope, again.
