ok, question to some of you guys... 20 years ago I was listening to thrash, Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Slayer etc.. kinda go away from it to listen to the grunge stuff, which I like but it's not the same vein IMO. Gave up on metal all together during the Nu-metal era, and then picked it up again a few years back to listen to bands like Nightwish, Epica, Kamelot, etc.

So now I'm dying for pure thrash, but I don't want any shit from the 80's, and I guess I want singers that can sing too.

I guess that's something I've come to like after listening to Symphonic Metal, but SOB there's nothing as badass as thrash, but damn there's nothing here that sounds good at all. I'm I just SOL because I like both symph metal and thrash, or are there a few bands out there now a days that still thrash, but don't sound like a hair band? But actually can sing (like a man, not some teenager whose balls haven't dropped yet) and holy shit I hate the death growl.

Metallica started the movement.
