  • Great to see the similarity of celtic music and bluegrass. This must have been one incredible concert. This was at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville? Anyone know the date this was taped? Is a DVD available?

  • hammör

  • Super groupe musical que j'ai découvert cet été au Festival Interceltique de Lorient . A écouter sans modération ! ! ! ! !

  • If only the Irish would spend a fraction of the energy they use glorifying drink, to glorify their creator.

  • Such a shame that an Irish band with such talent and KNOWLEDGE about british brutality against their own people woud turn their their backs on IRELAND. Shame on you and your QUEEN you TRAITORS.

  • @ametrine100 The Chieftains represent the best of Ireland and its' music and have entertained all over the world, even China. If you looked with any savvy you would notice that the accordian player is French or Basque and not English. When not touring, the Chieftains live in Ireland, so please stop posting nonsense.

Ta tu ag leabairt raimeis agus bfeider nach ceart dom freagra a thabairt do amadan mar tusa.

  • Is there a DVD you can purchase with this video on it?

  • muy buen ritmos. me gustan estos ritmos

  • what kind of dancing is the guys and girls doing its sure not irish dancing

  • @TheBoxcar9

    Clogging

  • @TheBoxcar9 ... The type of dancing is IRISH .... it is an "Old Style" or Sean Nos (Irish Gaelic) and there are many other examples of same on youtube. I suggest "Step Dancing War" for viewing.

Sean Nos is fun dancing, even tongue in cheek, but is as Irish as can be. Some set dances have parts where the dancers show off their Sean Nos for a few bars of music (e.g. Connemara Set)

The piano (and harp) player has passed on' Go gconai se i Parrthas Na Gras agus beannacht De lena anam.

  • What's the name of the blonde fiddler that dances at the end? Sorry my bad english...

  • @theceltictipper / Jon Pilatzke and his brother Nathan

  • Saw the Chieftains twice at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC. The first time I saw them the two men dancing were both playing their violins as they dance. Phenomenal. Will be back at Kennedy Center March 16, 2012 for 50th anniversary tour. I WILL be there. Amazing music, dance and culture! Keep going, Paddy!

  • I love this song and just find myself beaming all the was thru it. But especially when the lads come out dancing at 2:15. Ben from Perth

  • Ding Dong Derek Bell. Class!!!!

  • Keep tradition alive, great to witness

    Thank you, Rob From Canada

  • Grand

  • Does anyone else find the two guys who were dancing in the beginning extremly good looking?

  • @LPnRockmusic Indeed :3

  • @LPnRockmusic Uh, yeah!

  • GREAT MUSIC:):):):):):):))))))))

  • The Lyrics are:

Dance all night with a bottle in my hand (3X)

Dance all night give the fiddler a dram

Dance all night with a bottle in my hand (3X)

Here comes Sally with her big boots on

  • Brilliant stuff Irelands greatest band without a doubt thanks Chieftains for keeping our fantastic culture alive!!

  • I heard the Chieftains and the Chilean group " Inti-Illimani played together. I don't know when or where. If someone had heard about this, please tell me. Thanks very much. I love the Chieftains, I am not Irish my roots are spanish , I don't know if Gallic, Catalan or Basque. It doesn't matter.

  • tell the imf and the cov. to leave our kids alone

  • Funny moments in IrishGrass!

  • how 2 people can't like , this is beyond me...fantastic music

  • We see here two contrasting styles of Irish step dancing; first you see the style from Cape Breton in Canada, then the ones in black are dancing in the traditionally Irish way.

  • This is the Ryman auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee - :)

  • Jaysus, Sean Keane is one fine lump of a man!

  • We saw the Chieftains recently at Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville, AR and they are truly great. The 2 brothers that dance have added a 3rd, a lady who is the wife of one of them.

  • I think it is the Pilatzke brohters!!! That's the first thing I thought when I saw them. They were teachers at Irish Week at Augusta Heritage in D&E college, Elkins WV. They were awesome!

  • I think it is Jon and Nathan Pilatzke. Jon is in the tie. They are very famous step dancers. I can't be sure, though, because Jon had a beard and mustache now.
