Even though i am a WTF taekwondo practioneer i think ITF is more effective than WTF is because most WTF sparring its all kick they dont teach you how to punch as much as itf although i think that the spar is a bit slow i think it is still pretty decent
Very good! But you do need to improve your speed and bouncing. Because you dont come far in tkd itf without speed. You got good strength and technique though
im a green belt and i too got a bit frustrated at ammount of missed opportunities. it wasnt bad, just not great.
my pointers: dont be afriad to get hit. i see you blocked alot of his kicks with two hands. i also noticed that your opponent was just throwing basics kicks repeatedly. dont hesitate to follow through with a swift jab/back fist and the overwhelm him until he leaves the mat (warnings, the pts!)
other then that, congrats on your victory! (next time wipe the floor with him)
So true. You can see almost every pro figheter in for example UFC bounces on their feet, so they can move faster. So does Kickboxers and boxers aswell:) Do you do any material arts? I do Taekwondo ITF myself, been practicing for 4 years, so good material art!
Mulla oli tosta toinenkin video (sain sen vasta myöhemmin käsiini, siksi se ei ole tässä). Siinä kolme tuomaria nostaa sinisen lipun ja neljättä ei näy.
i expected much less from low ranks but..that wasnt bad
you have a good defense, along with that work on your counter fighting game! that guys attacks were so obvious, an experienced fighter would have destroyed him in 20 seconds
Nice video. I'm a Green Belt too and i love to spar. You have good defence and control nut i did notice that your not bouncing as much on your feet. I find bouncing is useful because it means i can react quicker when my opponent attacks or when i want to attack.
Yeah, I know, my movement needs to improve a lot. If there's anything good about it, it seems at least that I don't get tired that qickly. But still...
lol i`m only 14 years old but i have a lot of experience in sparring:) And i see you are a greenbelt. You keep your guard up, you have control and power. Really nice man!
You might be more suited to full contact because you cover your head well and keep your chin down. Semi contact too much of a game.

Cool vid! The red belt you were sparring sucks lol. Everytime he does a roundkick he dips his head and he only kicks to your body lol.

More bouncing on your feets, and you could come really far...:)

@janster7 Very true bouncing on your feet makes you switch fast and do more step ins and slide ins more accurate.

Really nice Tkd Itf sparringmatch.
I dont want to be the bad guy here, but if it was up to me.
1st round= The guy in red gloves.
2st round= You, in Blue Gloves.
Then i would have given sudden death.
i am a blue belt in tkd itf.
Really nice fight though....:)

Thanks! I'm sure it was close, but I can't really remember. And yes, I probably did lose the first round.
