It kinda' bothers me that he's going to be playing in Saranac Lake next month. Granted, I'm going to the show so that's cool. But these guys should be playing festivals or at least opening for big bands. I mean shit, he's like the second coming of SRV.
In response to a couple of comments on here...Chris has only met SRV once and does not like to be compared to him as great as he is. Chris has his own style and appreciates being recognized for it.
He definitely has the Vaughan influence but its only a part of his whole mojo he has some really unique chops that invoke fusion jazz and even a bit of country twang.
His phrasing is highly creative and unpredictable.
If you really look at the way Chris plays..rhythmically- scales-- etc.. you'll see drastic differences between he and SRV. To disagree is to be unaware.
not a bad cover...i hear too much SRV in his playing. not that its a bad thing. Chris is a helluva guitarist, but a little to "Texasy" for my taste. I like the Derek Trucks version of this song.
I saw this guy when i was like 9,he did a hendrix set late at night,i missed it cuz i had to go to school.Chris duarte is great!Think he likes stevie ray??
This guy is hands down the best Texas chainsaw blues player alive today.

Okay guys, you can't have too much SRV, c'mon... haha. You are right that he sounds a heck of a lot like him but he is phenomenal anyhow.

I agree.. he has too much SRV in his style to really be considered original, but he is a great guitarist.
