Did you see Steve at Westbury? I was gonna go but didn't because Eydie wasn't performing. Steve's great, but it's just not the same without her. She's the most important part of the act! I wish she would come out to the concerts with him, even if she doesn't want to sing, just to tell stories and say hi to us fans. Just to see her would be great.
This is one of my favorite recordings of "Gypsy." There have been more than 150. My father, Moe Jaffe, was the lyricist. Clay Boland, an extremely talented dentist (yes!) wrote the music. Both were graduates of the Univ. of Pennsylvania, where they met.
I guess I'll be the first to comment on this wonderful Eydie Gorme song. I just love this little brunette gal from the Bronxs. What an amazing performer...she definitely has a velvet voice. Thanks for your post! Andrea
