  • Such a beautiful engine, I love the 6100!

  • its not fair that o gauge gets every locomotive and there are none in ho scale and why are all the steam locos made out of good metal

  • Love that whistle!

  • I had one of these in "N"gauge , made in Korea , with every rivet present. What a wonderful loco, and what a fabulous model. Model Railways , "the greatest hobby ever"

  • do you know anywhere where i can get that model in HO scale

  • que maravillosos trenes tienes, las locomotoras estan bellisimas, felicidades por tu material!!

  • I heard this train can reach speeds over 100mph.Is it true?

  • @ItalianBlackheart123 Over 125 mph rather. The engine was designed for speed. "Small cylinders", big drivers and grate area.

  • Friggin Cool-Lookin' though .... maybe they should have tried harder. Thanks for posting. If anyone knows where I might find a model of this, I hope you'll let me know.

  • are you running atlas 63 in curves

  • THATS A COOL TRAIN!

  • are you going to add the road bed gravel later and spray paint the rails brown to look like rust?

  • That thing must have been a terror at trackside at 100mph.

  • Man, That Tender is really long!!!

  • I would so love to have one S-1 in HO scale, but I doubt that they could make a S-1 that is able to pass through 22 inch curves without artuclating.

  • Heya -- as far as I know, both this model and the Lionel s1 model need 0-72 curves as a minimum. I'm not an expert, but the curves in this video look sharper than that. Is this the case? Or are my eyes tricking me? I'm just curious, I'm kind of interested in getting ahold of one of these.

  • Ahh, nevermind. I'm used to HO gauge, where turn measurements are given in radius, not diameter.

  • I think they should also make the PPR's Q-1 as well both the N-1 and the Q-1 are unusual steam eginges because they have the second cylinder in the reversed position behind the fire box. very unique and unusual.

  • I am having a hard time trying to find the B%O Claas N-1 #5600 George H. Emerson on MTH or Lionel. Does MTH make this steam engine or they do not yet. If they do please let me know, but if they do not, then they should its a great and unusual steam locomotive. thanks.

  • Thanks for replying back! You know, trains are my favourite vehicles. I have watch almost every video from you. I live in Croatia and I'm 14 years old. I will be a train enginner and one day I will come to USA to see all these locomotives. And one question: Could you make a video of S1, T1 and Q2 tripleheaded?

  • Poorly. It operated on the mainline from Chicago to Crestline, Ohio, and didn't venture further east.

  • How did it negotiate curves?!?

  • Extremely unusual design of loco. Ugly though to be honest. But would love to see one for real.

  • It smokes better than the lionel version, thats for sure. Does it come smoking that good, or did you install a better unit?

  • Almost forgot, this engine would look great with fleet of modernism cars behind it!

  • Unfortunately, in case you never knew, this engine was scrapped in 1949.

  • I think the engine is quite beautiful, but I agree that its an extremely unusual design. 6-4-4-6 wheel arrangement, wtf??

  • @Rivelution The 6 wheel bogies were needed to support the weight, and even then is was still overweight.

  • hey can you make a video of this engine going really fast down a long straightaway

  • vry sleek locomotive indeed

    I'll buying that with a T-1 Duplex :D

  • Sweet! MTH rox! Thanx fur sharin'!

  • Comment removed

  • WOW that thing is S*L*E*E*K!!!

  • I wish someone would make an HO model of this.

  • There was a grand total of ONE of these built. It was an operational failure and was scrapped by Pennsy themselves.

  • It wasn't really a failure. It did run until 1948. It's sheer size confined it to only a small part of the Pennsy system, which was one of its biggest drawbacks.

  • I like the Lionel one a little better

  • It's too bad none of the actual locomotives survived. I really want to get this model.

  • I just got this model, and i love it. the whistle is unbelievably loud, thought it would blow my head off!

  • cool vid check out my layout

  • I knew the Pennsy whistles were shrill, but CHRIST!

  • lets just say i've never seen an engine like it, it's sorta a mini big-boy. cool vid though!

  • How come mini? Its more than 8 feet longer than the Big Boy!

  • If you include the Tenders of the LOCOMOTIVES.

  • Nice!

  • OUCH I can hear the Tie plates crying!

  • if only there was one with the new chugging...

  • i have the s-1 and q-2 and love them...whats really coll to do is lash them up together.....

  • I have a Hogwarts Express set then got a amtrak train.nice job!!!!

  • It looks like Flash Gordon's spaceship

  • S1 the coolest locomotive .... ever !!

  • That is the sickest looking (Good sick version) steam engine I've ever seen! I want one =)

  • That is a really cool locomotive i only wish someone like broadway limited would produce it. I know id buy one!

  • Both the S1 and T1 have an articulated front set of drivers (unlike the prototype) so they can make it through the tight 3-rail curves.

  • Nice

  • You can see that the model is obviously not rigid it's boiler swings out like any mallet type. They do thet because most O-Scale 3-Rail track is tight radius.

  • I can see the pilot truck clearly has a LOT of movement, apparently lateral as well as swivel, but it's *NOT* obvious to me that the first set of drivers has any motion on this model. I agree, O-Scale 3-Rail can have a tight minimum radius (O27, for example, approximates a 15"R curve in HO!) but they can get 10-drivered O-scale engines around such curves with creative engineering in some cases...

  • its like the other one with a diffrent front

  • Hi Dave,

Very nice! Question: are the MTH S1 and T1 "true" duplexes (i.e. rigid), or does the front engine have a degree of swivel a la the HO Bowser duplexii?

Many thanks for sharing all of your fantastic collection! I'm an HO man myself but my sons love your vids.

    -JP

  • COOL! Get a PRR Torpedo! I love PRR locomotives!

  • These are all O-gauge (1:48) electric trains.

  • I have a few questions about your model. Is that one of those models powered by actual steam engines? Also, that looks pretty big, what scale is that? It looks pretty bad ass.
