I think, this is a reincarnation of Lezard, he uses the time machine in VP1 to go back a few centuries. That's when the events of VP2 take place as your playing the game.
So I dont think this is him when he is a child. Unless this is sometime in the future and Alicia has reincarnated during the VP1 time period where Lezard was a child.
There's no Time thing at all. Its not the past, its the continuation, the aftermath - there's no "rewinding time" - its simply being reborn again - the soul constantly reborn after each death.
Alicia is either given another chance at a normal life or is, like Lenneth was at first, a 'sleeping Valkyrie' though thats a bit of a stretch
As for the Lezard thing, I wonder how they're going to do this in the next VP (if any) - will they take the alt. ending or not?
@staroceanmasterfan1 this scene shows back before he did what he did *eg..as a child before such thoughts of obsession took place* thats all it is..thus back when alicia was removed from her kingdom and roamed alone
Rufus in this scene rewinds time,to change things that should have been and their outcomes..thus why you see lezard as a kid and alicia..plus as i was told in game when alicia recieves the 3 and becomes *valkyrie* do NOT use her to fight lezard..and you will get this scene after credits..this is what i was told
i played as lezard against lezard (i took the one on seraphic gate and put the weapons i "borrowed" from the one on the main story on him), then i said something funny without actually trying...
"and now imma gonna defeat you even if i have to kick my own ass"
after realizing what have i said i could not do anything else but giggle (i'm a girl but i did a very masculine voice when doing a voice over of the lezard of my party)
@HarunaSahra you bet, in my final battle i made brahms all powerful since he had god slayer he was the one doing more damage, the others where equiped with the obscennely powerful weapons i got making lezard, dylan, arngrim and leone lvl 45, sword of the meek and tri-emblem for brahms, slashing sword farewell for fraudir, dragonslayer2 for arngrim and a mage just for the lulz (i made them al learn god slayer on the road before the final battle just to be sure)
@Dewani90 Er...I just had all of mine with regular items/armor. XD I never really went for that fancy smanchy stuff... I had lvl 85 Alicia, 70-something Rufus, 62 Brahms, and 45 Arngrim...who always died. (lol)
@HarunaSahra lol, my arngrim was 71 and i didn't used alicia(since she transformed into valkyrie) so i squashed lezard with the party i told you before, because i wanted to ge the A+ ending, and i happen to want everything since i was hours trying to get all those characters to 45 on the Hydra, and was a lot of time killing things on the seraphic gate to get Freya and the valkyries and lezard there, so i tough i deserver a little plus on my ending o.<
Dang, this scene was so cute and sad! In a way Rufus and Alicia did kiss, they both kissed the ring, but thats kinda boring. I think he's going to wait for her though.
er.i beg to differ...from what i see, during the A ending of VP1,Lenneth was made the creator.I have a feeling this future Lenneth we see is the one that appeaed in the A ending in VP1.
Whatever, Lezard and Lenneth will still exist forever in a game of cat and rat. You can see this in Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume for DS. When you complete a stage on Seraphic Gate, a Stone Table is written and who write it is Lezard himself if I do not mistake myself. '-'
Whoa I never noticed Lezard sitting there before. If I understand the comments he's not normally there but if you defeat him without using Valkyrie he is? That would be really hard(or at least time consuming) to do since Valkyrie is the only character that does significant damage in that fight. Since I love Lezard so much I will give it a shot.
@_@ ok, anybody, answer me this. is it a bad thing or a good thing he's there? i read half of the theorys of ALTERNATE REALITY and i feel like my brains frying.
I don't take Lezard presence there as canon. The canon ending is the one where Valkyrie defeats him and stuff, not some ending where she not even fought him.
And yes, VP2 sorta created a new timeline for VP series, since it changed Lenneth's future (In other words, Lenneth's future was "destroyed". Things arent going to happen as we saw in VP1). Just remember, VP2 may happen in the past, but the events we saw takes place AFTER VP1. Since Lenneth was the creator and came from the future.
But there are two different universes, so the other universe is where VP1 takes place. Confusing, frustrating fucking story, Why not just make a sequel to the first one? Whatever...
I see it as the timeline fits within the same reality even though Lenneth says she's from an alternate future. Ragnarok was predicted in the first place, and she was the one to renew the world.
Lenneth's past self is supposedly "asleep" in this game I would think, but her future self returns to the past to stop Lezard. In essence, I think it is not so different to FF8's idea of time compression. The past and the future I think fit fine in terms of how the events pan out, but it's confusing.
I think that the possibility of it happening after VP1 is high because Brahms recognised Lenneth and Arngrim have no recollection of the past with Brahms even though his memories weren't being sealed like Lenneth. And if Lezard destroyed Odin in the past already,Lenneth would probably disappear since it was Odin who summoned her in VP1 in the first place,Lezard would probably disappear as well.Either way, storyline with Time involved is always messed up :P
In VP1 Brahms recognises Arngrim and Hrist, mentioning they've fought together in the past.
Even Hrist mentions it to Arngrim. This all happens in Brahms' castle when you go to retrieve Lenneth's "vessel" that Hrist has taken over (with the A ending sequence).
I agree with you though. Odin must have been restored even though we don't see him. I think Arngrim's memory, what with being human, may just be a side effect of his reincarnation.
The timelines don't have to cohere. They could always just spin the two off into different universes entirely, meaning that the outcome is that Lezard is dead. Lenneth from VP1 goes home happy and Rufus takes over in the other reality.
Most likely the VP2 universe was created by the time machine as a means of creating the illusion of transport back and forth in time. Which means that Lenneth will not actually return to her original universe, but in her case it doesn't matter because people only live through her anyway.
Speaking of which, anybody heard about the VP coming out on the DS? Looks good, but yet again focusing on Lenneth. Dammit, I don't give a crap about Lenneth, I wanna see Rufus and Alicia reunite!!
I heard that VP2 had an alternate ending if you didn't use Valkyrie in the final fight, but I never knew what it was... Wow, I'm speechless.
"Guess who's back, back again?" XP
But I doubt he'll end up like before *cough* Lenneth stalker *cough* but to think, he's already that engrossed in books. *facepalm* Cripes... Not to mention getting to grow up w/Alicia. I just hope she and Rufus reunite in the future.
First: Lezard's reincarnation (0:08) is the alternate ending if you defeat Lezard without using Valkyrie.
Second: The events you see here is an ALTERNATE reality and has nothing to do with the reality in VP1. In other words, this is NOT Flenceburg's Lezard. Reincarnation is not duplication
Third: VP2 takes place 600 years before the events of VP1. Yet it isn't a true prequel because the events of VP1 had to have happened first. It's sort of cyclical.
Your third point doesn't hold water. When you mess with time, the "Chicken or Egg first?" question will arise. It is true that because of the present, the past is affected due to time travel. However, if the past is affected, and had its history changed, it is more than enough to say that the present will change as well(Ragnarok will not exist, Odin's already dead, and there won't be a "Lenneth X Lucian" relationship and the whole story of VP is void. We also do not know how time works in VP.)
well, lenneth came back in time to fix the changes in her own. so i supose the time lines stay seperate and slowly, eventualy merge. plus at the end of this scene it says the destinies mend the rifts in time. since lenneth never met wolther in vp1(accused) its probably a merged time line
Sorry for replying to a 5 month old comment. it doesnt seem that far back... This is an extract from Wikipedia
"This is not the Lezard of that time period, however, and is in fact, one from an alternate future, the one seen in Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth. His involvements leads to the events in Silmeria, changing the timeline."
So doesnt this means he is Lezard from Lenneth? Another obvious clue is his obvious obsession with Lenneth, which he is not really suppose to meet now?
Actually I think that this is the same Lezard, and that he was duplicated. The reason being that it makes "sense" in a sort of twisted way: because Lezard went back in time to before he was born, his existence had to be erased so that his soul could be born for the first time. This is his eternal fate, which is as twisted as he. "The soul is reborn and summoned countless times... and at the end of myriad rebirths, the demise of the soul awaits."
Yes, you're probably right. Probably an ending which they planned and then decided to scratch, then decided to put in the extra footage anyhow as a bonus. Which I don't think I blame them because Lezard was awfully 2 dimensional. Funny that the guy who criticized others for remaining "static" wasn't able to grow himself.
no, this ending appears after the credits, it dosn't matter if you made or not the Seraphic gate, it may change depending of how you defeated lezard (with or without valkyrie on the team), the kid reading the book (lezard) will appear on the scene only if you defeat lezard without valkyrie

Right in the beginning, you will see someone sitting reading a book, that's the difference if you don't use a certain character that starts with V in the last boss.
Now look at the guy reading right in the beginning, you should know who he is.
Since "he" came from the future originally, it's difficult to tell if he was reincarnated or that him before Valkyrie Profile Lenneth. Agh, I don't like this series. It's all so gloomy.
yea i hate the ending too the way VALKYRIE faded away... waaah its soo sad, wait about "him" he died in the past so i think its ok for him to get reincarnated?? wah im so confused
for anyone who watches it, just look at the right side, thats him, it isn't exactly a "second ending", just a little extra for all the "him" fans, a short cameo showing his "really young" self
I think, this is a reincarnation of Lezard, he uses the time machine in VP1 to go back a few centuries. That's when the events of VP2 take place as your playing the game.

it does make the most sense.
and with the ending part as well, where it is talking about the future on lenneth's wings and all that time mending stuff.
the actual act needed to fix this is the destruction of the time machine in that time.
then Lezard would have never used it, and we would have a story in the future between Lezard and creator Lenneth.

Since "he" came from the future originally, it's difficult to tell if he was reincarnated or that him before Valkyrie Profile Lenneth. Agh, I don't like this series. It's all so gloomy.

for anyone who watches it, just look at the right side, thats him, it isn't exactly a "second ending", just a little extra for all the "him" fans, a short cameo showing his "really young" self

it only shows a reincarnation of Lezard in this ending if you didn't use any Valkyries in the last battle.
