  • i got 3 retinal operations...yeah not a pleasant feeling

  • Does it hurt or do they use anesthesia?

  • @VITALVIP3R they use anasthesia..well when i surgered..the only thing that hurted is the injection in the beginning

  • I had this procedure to repair a full detachment, along with laser treatment to seal a large tear. The eye was very red etc he day after, but no bruising of the surrounding areas. After three weeks it has cleared up massively but there is still some redness. I'm due to have the oil removed in September when the level of sight will be measured. Difficult to predict and there is a one in four chance of another detachment.

  • what type of vision will this patient get back after this surgery?

Is there any evidence that stem cell works for retinal detachments?

    thank you

  • I wonder what's the look of the eye after this surgery? is it possible that it recovers and the white of the eye becomes white and normal-looking again?

Cause this really seems to damage the eye's white permanently...

    I'd appreciate the answer.

  • hi all im a 28 yr old female 2 yrs ago i had a detatched retina doctors didnt understand how i had it at a young age its more common in older people i had surgery and a buckle attached to the bottom of my eye which will remain in before the surgery i had blurred vision and after the surgery 2yrs on i still am the same my vision still not the same i was told by my surgeon tht it wasnt possible to hve my vision bk as the retina had been detached for 2 long unless repaired within few weeks

  • I've had a vitrectomy in both eyes in 1995 due to retinal detachment. I went from blind to being able to drive and live a quality life. Dr John Carver at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo Utah performed the surgeries. He has people come from all over the world to see him because he is that good. He has an excellent manner in which he treats everyone with respect and kindness. Excellent doctor and a really nice person that truly cares. Good Luck friends.

  • THIS VIDEO IS NICE ONE

  • wait my eye's retina isnt detached but i was born with 2 small "flaps/holes" and my doc said laser treatment should be fine...can anybody tell me if laser surgery hurts?

im only a teen and i wish to become a doctor...but i am ironically afraid of surgery and unnecessary pain...

  • can you please let me now where it is carried out and how much it costs

  • Continuation: PLEASE HELP US TO GET BACK HER VISION THAT WILL GIVE HER WITH A NORMAL LIFE, we are only an ordinary person and live with a simple life that couldn't afford that kind of surgery. I pity on her because someday she couldn't see her family, her surrounding and feel the real life.. THANKS A LOT and GOD BLESS.

  • Good day. I am from the Philippines. My 3 year old has been under chemo for Acute Lynphoblastic Leukemia for more than a year now. This March his vision started to get impaired eventually lost it. MRI showed "leukemic infiltrates" behind the retina resulting to bilateral retinal detachment. He underwent radiotherapy in August still with nothing to see even light perception I think. PLEASE HELP ME FIND THE BEST EYE SURGEON WHO COULD BRING BACK MY SON'S EYESIGHT. PLEASE HELP ME...God bless...

  • I have Toxoplasmosis of the Retina. I am not exactly sure what happened but from what I know it damaged and scarred up my retina. That caused me to also develop Nstagnis (sorry I hope I spelled that right). I currently have 20/2000 vision. What I am wondering is if there is any way now or in the future to cure my vision? Maybe have some way to replace my retina?

  • what settings /technique do you use to safely take out the silicon oil without re-detaching the retina?thank you

  • AAAAAHHHHH!!!!!

I had retinal detachment surgery 12 years ago and apparently it wasn't as advanced as it is now so @ the time my surgeon who i still see on a yearly basis told me that if i had retinal detachment again it would be IMPOSSIBLE to reattach. ***sigh*** & now i'm seeing dots (symptoms of retinal detachment) so i have an appointment march 3rd 2009, pray for me cuz i am scared & going out of my mind.

& watching this vid made my eye hurt :(

  • I am so sorry to hear that! My boyfriend has had a retinal detatchment and 2 failed attempts at having it reattatched. He sees a retinal specialist at the VA hospital in a week to see if there is anything at all that can be done, they are talking about maybe a silicone oil injection. I hope your appointment went well and I am praying for you!

  • well, I got the retinal detachment 2 year ago, at that time, the Dr put the silicone oil to reattact the retina, After that I got a cataract in the same eye, Ome month ago, I did the operation to change the len and to remove the silicone oil, Unfornately, the retina detached agains. So, they put back the silicone oli, and now my visual 's not good :(

  • Well done!

  • damm i had this done twice in both eyes its amazing x
