The show is okay... the subject matter is good but the actors are acting like they are on a stage set... they need to make that transformation from stage acting to t.v. sitcom acting... their acting is too over-the-top. I looked at the first episodes but loss interest. My neighbor used to work for him so I've seen all of his plays and and movies... the "Browns" made me cry... I think his sitcom needs revamping because he is talented and needs to stay on top....

I LOVE Tyler Perry but this show isnt funny!It relys on 2 many old school slap stick jokes that play up 2 sterotypes of AA.Not saying his plays dont use some of these same tactics but the dialogue is much better.Tyler MUST offer AA viewers better than this! An AA family always crackin on each other gets 2 be tedious,predicatable &plain NOT FUNNY!2 compare it to Cosby he needs better writers who know how 2 write comedy w/out relying on played out one-liners that make the Paynes look buffonish.

Mr. Perry warned us that the sitcom was not going to be a 'laugh-a-minute' as in his stage shows. Television has to be written with more of a storyline. I think if we give it some time, it may grow on us. I am happy that he is helping to bring black comedy back. Everything that we get on tv is soon taken off because of 1) ratings. And to this day I have never seen one of those boxes or know anyone who has one of them in their home.

I dont watch it anymore...I was watching it for a while, giving it a chance to get better...but no go. It wont get better until they spend more time writing and shooting. As it is they are shooting up to three episodes a week, and it shows. Until this is changed, it wont get better...if it doesnt get better, I'll bet it doesnt make it to 100 before tbs pays of perry's contract and sends him on his way. He should stick to playwriting, period.
