  • Hahaha i love this uploaded! But she wastes trees in the movie.. oh well. This scene is priceless!

  • lol!

    Lydia<3

  • Lydia Deetz - the emo prototype, right here!

  • I was named after Lydia... Is this a good thing?

  • @chubchubfatfat

    That's an awesome thing!

If I ever had a daughter,That would be her name.

  • love her and all her films including this scene

  • I love this scene. :)

Would anyone happen to know the name of the song?

  • @DitaVonMarilyn The song is "Regnava nel silenzio" from Act 1 of Donizetti's opera "Lucia di Lammermoor".

  • @compazine Oh, okay. Thank you so much. -^.^-

  • @DitaVonMarilyn the song is a famous aria called "Regnava nel silenzio", from an opera called "Lucia di Lamermoor" :)

  • STORY OF MY LIFE.

  • this is my favorite scene in the whole movie XD so dramatic!

  • @LuthienofDoriath - You need to re-examine EVERYTHING... Nobody ever really believed that Goth kids were seriously depressed... despite every "Goth kid" at the mall trying their damnedest to look deep, disturbed and lonely. The fact of the matter is - white kids in the suburbs don't have any reason to be taken seriously and that's the only thing bothering them. You know what "Goth" really panned out to be in the end? A marketing gimmick... If you're not depressed about that, you should be...

  • @informatist

If where going to talk about the reality of what fads and pop culture are, you are quite accurate on what "goth/emo" have become.

The new "goth/emo", is a kid wearing generic clothing his mom bought from Walmart with her child support money, who is also really eccentric and into drugs and (good) music.

I should consult hipster Ariel on this, but you probably haven't heard of her.

  • @informatist - You're mistaking goth for emo. The difference, other than the cost of their clothes, is that Goth was viewed as depressed and seeking attention by the people on the outside, while emo was the children of the people on the outside looking at Goth and thinking 'whoa, look at all the attention that gets!'. Most people interested in goth culture aren't depressed, but neither do they pretend to be. (I won't say what they are since a thousand websites exist for that exact purpose.)

  • @informatist i have an idea! why don't we all just dress how we want and be who we want to be without trying to fit in or put a label to it! :D lol

  • Gosh, I was DYING laffing here! XD

    "...jumped--plumetted...."

    XD

  • she's my fav character in the movie :)

  • plummeted lol

  • One thing I know. If Winona ever died, I could never watch this scene AGAIN!!!!

  • Beautiful scene, why the hell isn't this song on the soundtrack?

  • I love this scene. WheneverI feel suicidal, I watch it

  • what is the name of this song?

  • @lilly31623 I believe it's "regnava nel silenzio" by Puccini from Lucia Di Lammermoor. It's amazing. In the opera, the bride goes mad and kills her new husband. Check it out. <3!

  • @nightbeauty02 It is "Regnava nel silenzio" from Lucia di Lammermoor, but the composer is Donizetti, not Puccini... It IS amazing. :o)

  • @veganvirtuosa Gah! Yes, it is Donizetti. My apologies. <3!

  • This is me.

  • I like the song o.o

  • When I was six, I memorized the suicide note XD

    I can still recite it!

I was a strange, strange child...

You could say I was... strange and unusual?

  • @KaTy0P3rRy Omg I had it memorized too!! Still do!! Glad I'm not the only one!

  • oh she was someone

  • I really wish I could zoom in on that paper at 0:36. There are a lot more words on that page than she actually spoke before they showed it. It'd be fun to know what is ACTUALLY written down. :)

  • "Beetlejuice" is one of my favourite movies...And who is singing the song?

  • Ma sis nd I made a joke of this scene cuz we were still lol'ing from the DAY-O! scene lol.

  • Oh the humanity.

  • I used to write that suicide note over and over in all of my journals.

  • I also used to do that...

  • anyone know the song that plays in the background? LMAO

  • "Regnava nel silenzio" from the opera "Lucia di Lammermoor" by Gaetano Donizetti. The singer in the movie is horrid, but it's actually a very beautiful piece.
