ive never heard a man with a charismatic voice like this, and the man himself is also SO charismatic.I love it!!! I like best metal and rock music, but i like all GOOD music, and this is GOOD!!!
I find it quite humorous to see rock musicians "compared" to Wolf on here. All of them combined haven't had any memorable impact on the world of Blues and in another decade or two will be long forgotten but Wolf will continue to be a legend. Hubert Sumlin's guitar work is still unsurpassed and totally unique. This was the "Real Deal", long before the crap marketed as Blues years later totally lost that feeling and soul.
@SirDanOfHell it's true, you don't really see any arguments about Justin Bieber on Howling Wolf videos. I kind of like Bieber myself... maybe we should stop this convo there, before a fight breaks out : )
THANK YOU PANDORA!! I have always been a fan of blues and upon entering 50's and 60's Blues this wonderful song came up and now I'm totally hooked!! Can't wait to hear more of Wolf's stuff!! the psychedelic version of this is even good!
@jackass311 You're welcome! But my name's Marco, not Pandora (ahah just kiddin)...the Wolf's psych album is super nice, even thou the man himself didn't like it at all as written on the cover of the album..have you heard "Electric Mud"? Same year, similar stuff by the great Muddy Mississippi Waters!
Love this song very much:D If you know anyone like him, (well probably the fans would say there is no lol), please tell me, Im looking for new artists to listen!! Im a big fan of Nina Simone, Fiona Apple, Nick Cave, I always like someone with good deep voice and who writes good lyrics!!
@bellchildish Dear friend, glad you liked the wolf...Deep Voice? You should check out Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band, for some raw surrealistic blues madness...Edgar Broughton Band and Tom Waits too...all these artists have been influenced by the Wolf's baritone vocals for sure (in their own different musical styles)...
@frenzexperiment Thank you so much for introducing me these great artists, I really like Captain Beefheart!! and other artists are interesting, too!! Ill listen to those artists' more!!! Cheers from Japan!! or how do you say, ciao? or caio? hahaha
@bellchildish You're welcome! We say CIAO ahah...take a listen to German krautrock band Can, their japanese singer Damo Suzuki is crazy, trippy stuff, man...
@UNDERGROUNDBOYZRAP Thank you so much for introducing this artist, :) Ive just listened a couple of his songs. I like a singer with much deeper voice though. But thank you, thank you!! It is always nice to find a new artsit that should be known :)))
Definitely should go for a look at Kevin Ayers(!!!)
One of the most underrated musicians alive, and who has been playing since mid 60s.
Otherwise there is Leonard Cohen, maybe you'd like Canned Heat (Alan "Blind Owl" Wilson!), and I think some songs of Danny Kirwan (with Fleetwood Mac) might be to your liking (One Sunny Day, Something Inside of Me), and there is Nick Drake as well.
None of 'm get as bluesy as 'Spoonful' though, but that doesn't spoil the fun.
@expoonation Thank you for the comment, I loved the music but I dont like the voice so much. Still it is always nice to listen to new artists! Thank you!!
He's just talking about how people will literally give themselves to danger&etc. for just a lil spoonful...They don't think about the whole can they just worried about getting a little bit until next time...that small spoonful'll do!!!!The spoonful could be anything*************
One of the greatest songs ever. for me its about how love is stronger than all those spoonfulls or bankfulls of things people fight over. it speaks volumes in a short amount of time blues with a feeling with out a doubt=]
Spoonful is about craving, it's about what gets you through the moment. Willie Dixon was the genius he was because he wrote about the stuff that everybody knows, in the very best way. If heroin falls into that category, fine. Jeez...
Real people, playing real instruments, that will never caught on.
