weel, i'm sorry to ask but do you have any good wind orchestra song to recommend? i'm actually looking for a good piece for my school to play next year. it's for a competition, but the problem is ; we don't even have the slightest idea of what song we should play. right now we need song that is 6th-8th grade.
oh ya, btw, our school also played Fate of Gods last year. what a coincidence. heheh, this year we played Disney festival and we won 1st place~
We have district/all-state auditions in georgia and the second round auditions are all-state auditions which combines the best musicians in the state sorted by grade.
No I mean this is pretty simple for All-State. I'm playing this in my band for 8th grade. I'm going to All-State next weekend and from what I know from last year the pieces will be more difficult than this. It's still a pretty difficult song for any middle school band but at state band, we do expect a bit more.
Well I guess the proper question for me to have asked would be "was it meant to be as much of a challenge as it normally would pose to a band?" or something along the lines of that.
yeah found it kinda easy after a while lol. my old school didn't prepare me for any music i play now. plus i never really practiced the higher octave e flat scale lol.
We played this for our 2005 marching band show along with "Montana Fanfare". We called the show Cycle of water. If u type in Windber Band 2005 u can wathch a video. It was amazing.
i'm playing this piece in my high school band and its absolutely wonderful. the acoustics don't do much for this ensemble, however. and i agree with teedee26, i hear NO french horn. i think this has been revoiced for alto saxes to play the horn part which also takes away from the piece. but overall, good performance
Very nice performance. I love the percussion, the bells and the xylophones. Had to close my eyes, though, 'cause the photographer didn't use a tripod.
@TubazRule94 & @souljagirllaur good for you but do you think anyone cares.

THIS RECORDING IS SO FUCKING BADASS.
It actually makes me like the song, which I completely hated with all of me a few hours ago.
It's not as boring as I thought.
