  • We played this at our concert last night! And we're only a 7th & 8th grade band. We played it fasterrr too.

  • we are playing this in band

  • Pfff... We had to play this at 120bmp.

  • @CrispyYoshi pff we play this at 150

  • weel, i'm sorry to ask but do you have any good wind orchestra song to recommend? i'm actually looking for a good piece for my school to play next year. it's for a competition, but the problem is ; we don't even have the slightest idea of what song we should play. right now we need song that is 6th-8th grade.

oh ya, btw, our school also played Fate of Gods last year. what a coincidence. heheh, this year we played Disney festival and we won 1st place~

  • The Flan Man conducting!

  • holy shit. the snares rush like a mofo. and yeah dynamics

  • I played this in my freshman year in symphonic band. We played it a lot faster, though.

  • we play this every year for graduation

  • dynamics...... our teacher kills us or them and yours should too!

  • *Frasson

  • Was that Mr.rasson conducting?

  • Played this at All-State last year

  • All-State?

  • We have district/all-state auditions in georgia and the second round auditions are all-state auditions which combines the best musicians in the state sorted by grade.

  • whoa, i made the all-state round but i did'nt make it. but im only in 7th grade.

  • No I mean this is pretty simple for All-State. I'm playing this in my band for 8th grade. I'm going to All-State next weekend and from what I know from last year the pieces will be more difficult than this. It's still a pretty difficult song for any middle school band but at state band, we do expect a bit more.

  • Oh. Well we took it very fast and sounded very professional. It was only the 9/10 concert band.

  • Well I guess the proper question for me to have asked would be "was it meant to be as much of a challenge as it normally would pose to a band?" or something along the lines of that.

  • @bandgeek630 we played this song and we're only a 7th & 8th grade band. :p

  • where's the clarinets?

    where's the flutes?

they have amazing runs and i can't hear them.

    at all.

  • yeah i can't hear that part at all. i have to play it for my School Band and that part is just insaaneee

  • lol, its really not, its basically just an eflat scale really fast. just looks intimidating.

  • yeah found it kinda easy after a while lol. my old school didn't prepare me for any music i play now. plus i never really practiced the higher octave e flat scale lol.

  • yeah, we played this last year, and i absolutely loved the woodwind parts. but i can't hear them.

it's okay, this is almost exactly what we sounded like at contest. we couldn't hear woodwinds on recording. =[

  • great song and you're playing it very very very well =)

    i love it... ^^

  • This was played at my graduation, I absolutely loved it.

  • the cam holder is gona give some1 a siezer

  • love this piece we played it in band this year.

  • Aw come on horns! :\

  • This is bleedin fantastic!!

  • much different from how i remember when i played it. then again there was a lot more french horn. good, and man do i miss that song...

  • im from the escadron 806 optimiste st-thérese

    /canada

    you?

  • im from 211 sqdn in ottawa

  • We played this for our 2005 marching band show along with "Montana Fanfare". We called the show Cycle of water. If u type in Windber Band 2005 u can wathch a video. It was amazing.

  • Where are the horns? They have an ESSENTIAL part in this piece and I can't hear it.

  • THIS RECORDING IS SO FUCKING BADASS.

It actually makes me like the song, which I completely hated with all of me a few hours ago.

It's not as boring as I thought.

  • i'm playing this piece in my high school band and its absolutely wonderful. the acoustics don't do much for this ensemble, however. and i agree with teedee26, i hear NO french horn. i think this has been revoiced for alto saxes to play the horn part which also takes away from the piece. but overall, good performance

  • theyre good

  • overall a nice performance but i don't hear any french horn sadly...theres a nice solo in there =[ good job saxes and trumpets you sound great!

  • Their low brass sounds amazing as well.

    LOW BRASS ANS TRUMPET FTW!

  • waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to fast when you were suppused to "GRADUALLY" SPEED UP!!!

also your flute and clarinets are suppused to be LOUDER at bar 46 to 55

  • That's an amazing piece of music. Very nicely performed!

  • Very nice performance. I love the percussion, the bells and the xylophones. Had to close my eyes, though, 'cause the photographer didn't use a tripod.
