  • I saw them live in New York City in 1981, and again in 1998. They were two very different concerts. In 1981, there was a lot more actual playing of the instruments. At that concert, I sat about 20 feet from the stage in a small place called The Ritz. In 1998, the concert was at the Hammerstein Ballroom. By then, it had become very automated as it is here, just as they said it would become someday when they were interviewed in 1981 by Trouser Press.

    I'm from southwestern Ohio, born in the early seventies. When I was in middle school, this stuff was pretty great for dances.
