How is he adding those effects?! Is his mic plugged into the GT-10B? I didn't know the GT-10B was a vocal effects processor as well as a bass effects processor! Can the GT-10 do the same?
Seriously awesome video though. Within seconds he's created new sounds DJ-style with no instruments or software!
That's great! Can I ask you something? I just bought the RC-30 and I was wondering if I can record a chords backing track that is, say, 16 measures on Track 1 and then record a percussive backing track that is 1 or 2 measures long or in any case shorter in length compared to Track 1 and make so that it doesn't stop and continues to play in loop while the chords go by. I'm starting to think that the only way to do that is to have 2 loop-stations, but before that a little help would be great :)
The rc-30 may have more recording time and usb connectivity, have stereo, etc, but there a lot of cons aswell, like the useless range of effects that take up 1/4 of the pedal buttons. On top of that the rc-30 has been said to be more unnecessarily complicated and clunky when overdubbing and recording with your feet. The rc-20xl on the other hand is more practical and will get the job done easier, plus the rc-20xl is used by Battles and Radiohead so if they can make it sound good so can you!
To my (and a lot of other players) horror the RC-3x series has latency when switching phrases: Just enough to completely throw off timing. This completely ruins any plan you might have to create different patches for song sections..
Afterwards Boss admit the error but state that this is not a "phrase change function", but a "song change feature" They've basically removed phrasing altogether, and now call it "song switching". Crap. Long story short. Stick with older RC's or digitech.
Having two tracks is very nice, but not particularly useful if you need hands to use them :-p Also, stereo, more memory and sound effects... meh, I'm still a happy RC-20XL owner, yay!
@mitchgunthorpe Noo you dont, thats just what hes into, i bought the rc-30 not that long ago, and ive been having alot of fun using it, just with the variety of things you can do, all that other pedals and loopers are just for an extra "oomf" if you want lol.
can you do a longer loop over a shorter loop or is the length fixed on the first loop you do? I would be really thankful if someone answered that question =)
@JockyBeeJayJay I think it goes for as long as you have the pedal on until you hit it again to turn it off, and then it just repeats that over and over again

Can you use it to record a full song?? And could you copy it to your computer??
skylorz 9 months ago
@skylorz Yep :) assuming you are making drum sounds with your mouth and all that, and then you can use the USB cable to put it on your computer
