Thanks for the upload.... I stumbled upon this because I wanted something to replace the other kind of rap music I listened to. I liked the beats of those songs and the voices of those artist, but I didnt like the lyric content. I didnt like what I was hearing but couldn't stop. Pettidee is exactly what I was looking for in christian rap. I'm motivated to send my bro some of his CDs cuz he has the same problem.

Don't be so quick to judge. Apart from the grillz on his teeth, there's nothing that flashy in the video. The car he's standing in front of probably isn't as flashy in actual sunlight. And the clothes he's wearing are the same clothes a middle class worker would wear on an average day. So don't assume Pettidee is rolling in the dough because he isn't as rich as you think he is.

I just get annoyed when Christians judge other Christians because God has blessed them with wealth. A lot of the Old Testament heroes were very wealthy and God showed no dissapointment, or disaproval of their wealth.
I have to say though, on the issue of Christians having wealth, that we have been brought up with this misunderstanding of what is "our" money. We tend to think that we give God the 10% in tithe, and the rest God blesses us with. In reality, we have no choice over 10%, and the rest we are to be faithful, and wise stewards over to provide our family and assist in the advancing of the kingdom of heaven.
And then what does Jesus say? Plus, your use of that scripture isn't valid here since the artist in question attained "wealth" (in reality he uses the money he gets to spread the Word to more places through his music) AFTER he became a Christian.

i know some people who are crazy rich, and they're probably still goin to heaven. what that verse means is that you can't be preoccupied with your riches. you see, when they talk about the eye of a needle, they aren't literally talkin about the eye of a real needle. they're talkin about a small gate next to the large gate of cities in bible times that was used after the large gate was closed.
continuing my other comment, the camel could get through the eye of the needle, but to do that, he had to kneel and have any load taken off its back. what the scripture means, then, is that to get into the kingdom of heaven, you need to not be preoccupied with worldly things and you need to kneel down and pray to our wonderful Saviour in heaven. so don't judge rich people. my grandparents are freakin rich, but they aren't obsessed wit their money, so they're most likely goin to heaven.

Pettidee definitely has talent, no doubt about it. Paul said "Everything is permissible for me"--but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me"--but I will not be mastered by anything. I see Pettidee as going a shade too far to imitate the world by "bling"-ing it up, rather than showing us how a Godly man spends time on his knees. Don't stop bringing it...just imitate Christ, not the world.

Not only is this dude probably the best Christian rapper, but he's probably top 10 of ALL rappers, no doubt. Props!! Oh, and about the shiny teeth and rims comments, you should understand that the people that he wants to listen to his music and save their souls, are the ones who are attracted to such things. Don't be so quick to judge. Apart from the grillz on his teeth, there's nothing that flashy in the video. The car he's standing in front of probably isn't as flashy in actual sunlight. And the clothes he's wearing are the same clothes a middle class worker would wear on an average day. So don't assume Pettidee is rolling in the dough because he isn't as rich as you think he is.

I just get annoyed when Christians judge other Christians because God has blessed them with wealth. A lot of the Old Testament heroes were very wealthy and God showed no dissapointment, or disaproval of their wealth.

I have to say though, on the issue of Christians having wealth, that we have been brought up with this misunderstanding of what is "our" money. We tend to think that we give God the 10% in tithe, and the rest God blesses us with. In reality, we have no choice over 10%, and the rest we are to be faithful, and wise stewards over to provide our family and assist in the advancing of the kingdom of heaven.

i know some people who are crazy rich, and they're probably still goin to heaven. what that verse means is that you can't be preoccupied with your riches. you see, when they talk about the eye of a needle, they aren't literally talkin about the eye of a real needle. they're talkin about a small gate next to the large gate of cities in bible times that was used after the large gate was closed.

continuing my other comment, the camel could get through the eye of the needle, but to do that, he had to kneel and have any load taken off its back. what the scripture means, then, is that to get into the kingdom of heaven, you need to not be preoccupied with worldly things and you need to kneel down and pray to our wonderful Saviour in heaven. so don't judge rich people. my grandparents are freakin rich, but they aren't obsessed wit their money, so they're most likely goin to heaven.
