it's really amazing to me- no matter what keyboard it is at any price- nothing sounds more musical than the CDP-100.. even any of the more expensive casio keyboards don't sound as good as the CDP-100.. most acoustic pianos don't sound as good as the CDP-100.. definitely get good speakers- playing on 6 watts per channel with tiny speakers in a plastic case is NOT the way to play THIS piano..
I have a few advices for future and current users.
DO NOT USE INTERNAL SPEAKERS - only for practicing.
Get yourself a decent amplifier and a pair of good speakers.People sell them now for close to nothing on E-bay and Craigs list.then get a cord and plug piano into a good Hi -Fi system. Once you hear a sound , you will be amazed. As far as "clicking" keys - you will not hear it ,when the sound is like it should be.Also this piano has a great hammer action.Do not compare it to $50,000,00 grands!
@chriskar5 He's right. Since it does not have an output, I went to Radio Shack, got a stereo mini plug, bought a female mini plug that went into two male 1/4 plugs. Perhaps there was female rca's at the end, I can't remember and I don't feel like walking down stairs. But go to the Shack.
@PeterMayer Yes Peter! There is a cable with mini 1/8" stereo plug on one end and two RCAs on the other .It is a bit expensive (about $19.00) but well worth it. Then a trick is NOT to overdrive an amplifier and for the beginners , I reccomend to set a volume on a piano half way and then experiment for the best balance between volumes of an amp and piano.
after months and months of getting to know the sound of many many digial piano's- i finally see that the CDP-100 is the best sounding piano.. it even sounds better than most acoustic pianos.. i will order one very soon.. of course i know that the keys are a little more noise than most keyboards- but i can probably go inside the case and place sound dampening material is certain locations and that should help..
Sorry, one more question! :P I read quite a few reviews complaining about how the keys made a really annoying "clicking" noise when you play. Is it that much of a deal breaker???
@SnowWhiteQueen5 Not a big deal at all. Every instrument with hammer action does that. It's just that expensive ones (in thousands) glue a thin layer of decorative red feltto stop a key from hitting back too fast. Trust me Casio is greatly underrated , but I am glad, because their instruments are affordable. Once they become too popular, prices will skyrocket.
I am also curious about the CDP-100. I'm wondering if it's a great digital piano for a beginner looking to step it up. Lol. Plz get back to me if you can.
alright cool. thanks. im thinking of either getting the CDP or an actual piano that I found on craigslist for around the same price, but it'll probably be gone by the time i get the money, which is in a month. lol.
Hi Peter thanks for play with us. My name is Manolo from Orizaba, México. I think buy this keyboard for me and my childrens. But, i have doubt if this digital piano is good. Please, helpme about this. Thanks so much.

good job peter!
i just bought this keyboard and couldnt be happier with it!
i get NO NOISE from my keys, people need to stop believing the "bad" reviews and go and try it and you'll be sold.
best piece of equipment for the money!
my friends are pissed cause they spent 800- 1500 for stuff that's just as good or worse than what i got for 400 bucks!
if your thinking of buying a keyboard, this one is it! I looked at every single keyboard under 1000 bucks and this is what i picked. I LOVE IT!

Wow! Gorgeous piano! I'm thinking of getting it--I'm a beginner. Are they full sized keys?
SnowWhiteQueen5 2 years ago

Are its keys noisy (that hammer key sound overpowering the actual piano sound as they say in other reviews)?
Rwmhos 3 years ago
Not to me. Especially for $400! Casio should make me a spokesman!
