That is something i've noticed they do a lot for perspective with Video games and cartoons they make the ends of object's like swords and such Larger at the end, in real life the object wouldn't get larger the but you'd have to figure out how much of the sword is lost in the rotation From the view point of the observer,

that "bird" is Ezlo who is a creature called a Minish but has been transformed from his sage form into that cap form by Vaati the wind mage. Ezlo serves as your partner much like navi but with a more important role in which Ezlo can shrink you down to minish size (about the size of your thumb nail) but only when near a Minish Portal. any other zelda related questions?
