Those things really do take a very sharp and keen edge.  I have the exact hatchet, except mine is the Gerber branded one. Great little tool for camping and hunting.

I used Fiskars axe of de-barking of a hundred or so 4 meter long roughly cut boards. Works like a charm.

WOW...I was really surprised how it shaved right through that limb like a knife. Is that the factory edge or have you worked on the edge??? Gifts from our kids that we actually use are the best...thanks for sharing!!!!
