thanks. this video is pretty much how i expected the install to go. ill be doing it later today. all that extra hard stuff, removing half the car just seemed way too silly. this video cleared everything up and made it easy.
i got those 2 bitch screws out with a long medium sized flathead.. its a much easier processs if you don't want to do a lot of work. basically just takes patience fiddling with the screw and getting a routine going. 1 speaker is 30 mins basically requires a lot of patience
I was just staring at my wife's car after replacing the head unit and finding out one of the rear speakers is blown thinking "How in the crap am I going to get in there to swap that out?!"
@meltron3000 but theres literally like 2 inches until it hits the window, i think ill make a video response so u can understand better what im talking about
big help dude. hey were can I get the metal fittings that attach to the stripped wires which in turn go into the new speaker??? I am having trouble finding where to get some.
@ metron3000 thanks bud, i was able to replace the ones on the back w/ no prob. But the front ones i need to get the ones u have lol. People at ebay keep sayin its 6.5 or 61/2 size. But the one they sent me was bigger in diameter. But anyways thanks to you again.
@dominionclerk Glad it helped! Sorry that you got sent the wrong size. Bummer for real. Hopefully you get the right ones and are able to install them with no problem. Good luck!
@dominionclerk Sony Xplode. Bought them at Walmart for like $40 dollars. They aren't the best, but do sound much better than stock. Just make sure they are wired correctly.
That was awesome video and instructions. I was about to destroy the whole back in attempt to pry open the speaker covers but thanks to your post, my civic will have the back cover intact.
@ej8cgp Not too sure. But, I would "think" it's the same. The worst that could happen is that it doesn't work. I don't think it will result in you breaking anything. Good luck and let me know if this helped.
OMG thank you your like the only person on youtube that has actually shown ppl how to replace the speakers in the rear. THANK YOU. I'm gonna try it on my 95 civic in about two weeks and if everything goes well...im adding you as a friend lol
@simon68686 Yep, 6x9's. Sony Xplodes I picked up from Walmart. They sound ok, but not amazing. If you're looking for good sound, don't go with these. Definitely visit Best Buy or some other traditional car audio shop for better choices.
@meltron3000 you should buy online, not wal mart, i think im gonna go with sony xplods or similar, i will hook an amp up to them also to get more power/ sound

those back 2 bolts, when i try to unscrew them it hits my back window. How do i get those off?
Babyykilla99 8 months ago
@Babyykilla99 Might need to use a shorter screw driver. They are pretty cheap to get at a local hardware store.
