@ATLxBRAWLER - i found the video, followed the steps and was able to use my converter easily, now i have a new computer and need to find it again, but it was easy to follow the lady who gave clear instructions. i look again now.
i have followed all the steps for my vcr2pc ion am only getting thisdevice is not available or is being used by another application that may be using the device How do I fix this? Please help..as I want to download my old vcr tapes to external hard drive after loading them onto my comp.
The install wizard is not loading. When connecting the USB it makes a low flat sound unlike when you connect any other device. This machine does not work and the support number does not answer! Seems like I and many others got taken!!
i have follow all the steps for my vcr2pc ion am only getting thisdevice is not available or is being used by another aplication that may be using the device
I was too hasty when installing and missed the part about clicking on 'found new hardware' Everything worked anyway, except the movie burnt onto disc had problems playing in our DVD player. It plays okay on the computer, though.
Trouble is, everytime I disconnect the ION from my computer's USB, I get an error page and the computer restarts. I uninstalled the program to start over, but now the 'found new hardware' icon doesn't pop up. I hope you can tell me how to resolve this.
Followed all the instructions. Even downloaded driver update. I still hit the same problem - I cannot get past the first screen where you have to type in how much vid you want to capture. The max time shown, despite there being a 2 hr vid in the machine, says 00 mins. I type in, say 1, in the hour box, but it reverts to zero every time. Until I get past this first screen I cannot use the machine. It is driving me nuts. Please help!
Okay, regarding the Camcorder part of the VCR 2 PC I am the idiot! There is a switch to the left of the camcorder cables that I neglected to switch to the right. My sincere apologies.
That doesn't excuse the lack of customer support, the difficulty of getting the drivers installed on a Windows Vista, or the confusing directions and instructions. But at last it all works and I am a happy camper. Thanks Dan, at Ion for helping me find the switch.
I guess they don't stay open until 6:30 PM EST or they have so many phone calls from people needing help that they can't keep up. What to do now? Not so sure I want to keep this product or invest in the Turntable to PC - which I thought sounded like another great invention and one I could really use for my late father's record collection. Guess I'll sleep on it one more time and give them one more chance. Didn't one of the creators say that he would listen to these messages and act on them?
You call Ion-Audio, leave John 4 messages explaining your situation and your deadline and wait for his call. After all, he did promise to call if I needed further assistance. I guess he came down with SWINE flu right after our first talk because that was Friday afternoon about 2:00 PM CST and here it is Tuesday and he hasn't called. I even tried to call the main switchboard Fri. at 5:00 PM CST, but their recorded response was, " I'm sorry you're having trouble. Please call again!"
So, you ask, what about the Hi-8 Digital Camcorder - does it work as well? NO IT DOESN'T. Funny thing is, the camcorder works on all of my other VCR's. In addition, the VCR does not fully rewind most of the VHS tapes. What to do? Call Ion-Audio, of course. But wait a minute. I did call Ion 4 days ago at 1:20 PM CST. I spoke to John, ext. 1256. He quickly sent me an email regarding trouble-shooting tips which were just as confusing and non-productive as the cd and website. What to do?!!!
Ok-4 days later, 7 hours on phone with HP.com Level 2 Tech and $60 later and I have successfully installed my drivers! According to HP, the CD instructions, the Quick Guide Reference, and the website instructions are so backward and confusing that they show an intellectual level equivalent to technology 20 years ago! The installation of the software should be first and it should load the drivers. Ion-Audio I hope you are reading this! So, now I am able to use the VCR 2 PC for VHS tapes.
HELP!!! I have put the CD in the drive. The red screen comes up. I click on Install Drivers. Nothing happens. I visit the website. I download updated drivers. I extract all files. I try again to install drivers - nothing happens. I try to use the control panel and locate new devices - it doesn't see anything. I moved the opened driver files to the program folder. I'm out of ideas here. Any other suggestions before I return this? I'm running Windows x64 bit - brand new! Please help!
I have not used the device yet, but I think I managed to install the driver on my Windows 7 64 bit laptop. After trying everything and failing to install it, I finally put the software CD in the laptop, connected the USB cable of the Video2PC and then searched on my computer for this newly connected hardware (VCR2PC). Then looked under properties - driver. It said (of course): no driver installed. I then let it search for a driver on the Ion software CD and - lo and behold! - it installed!
Please can someone help me! I have Win Vista 64 and the driver will not install for the VCR2PC. If someone has done this or if you have a video that will show me how, PLEASE help me. I'm not computer stupid, but this isn't working for me!
Just go to the ion website, go to support documents and downloads, click on VIDEO and then ALL 'till you find VCR2PC. Scroll all the way down to software and drivers. Download the one for windows XP, it worked for windows 7. Then unzip the driver, it will will come with instructions on how to do that. It's very basic, again I am not good with computers and I was able to figure it out so I know you will be able to as well. Good Luck!
That is one messed up installer disk! What a piece of junk. It really doesn't work. But I went to the website, followed the "driver" update instructions and that seemed to work. We'll see on the software, but I'm not getting a warm feeling just yet.
Hi. I installed everything & I think I have everything installed correctly but I have no audio. I can view & record my vhs tapes but they have no sound. Any suggestions? Thank you! :)
I had no problem installing the driver and software, however, when I click on the desktop icon it says I need Flash 7.0 or higher. I have Flash 10 on my computer. Please advise.
1. download the latest driver, not the software. 2. unzip the file into a folder you will remember 3. plug in the vcr2pc device via the usb cord 4. when the find the driver page pops up install driver from the folder you unzipped the file into or from the device manager page, look for the vcr2pc with the yellow circle on it, right click on it and install via the folder you installed it into. viola, your done! use cyberlink pwr director 8 ultra and it works
Eric I can't get my Pc to open the installation wizard it tried a few times but couldnt read the cd, now its reading the cd but wont prompt the wizard again.
I can't install the hardware, it says an error occurred. The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request. Now what do I do?
I have followed all the instructions and downloaded the zipp file. When I try to update the driver it says I have the most up to date driver, but I have a message that says "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)" How can this be corrected?
i have vcr2pc, it worked ok with vista. i switched to windows 7 and now it tells me the device is not available or being used by another application or it needs windows 7 driver, i cannot locate it anywhere. i tried ion tech support and they were no help
I followed your instructions both from the CD and the above video. A nessage comes back and says that I am trying to install an UNSIGNED Valid digital signature. Then it says that the driver is unavailable. What do I do now? I am running Vista OS. We just bought this VCR2PC, and have tried it on both our computers which are both VISTA. Maybe I need to take this thing back. PLease HELP before I return it, as I really don't want to. But if I can't get it to work, I will return it.
