I'm sorry, but what the American people want is for you to shut up and make a decision already. We're tired of hearing the ridiculous bickering. No we don't want you to go "step-by-step"! Quit dragging it out and fix it already!
I'm glad President Barack Obama has provided the public with more transparency by having this healthcare discussion. It allowed me to see that most, not all, Republicans have a problem staying on topic. Some Republicans brought anti-healthcare props to the discussion. Corporate America has made clones out of these officials. When you've heard one, you've heard them all. I foresee a cold November rain. How did you all sound alike? Corporate interests have caused you to look foolish in public.
@AugieTee "Republicans have a problem staying on topic"? Every single Republican who spoke pointed out specific problems with the bill and backed it up with CBO reports. They were objective and factual. The Dems merely gave anecdotes about how So-And-So in Whatever district was having a hard time. And when Republicans pointed out specific issues with Dem bills, Obama labelled them "props". How the hell can they be props when they're the very subject of the summit?
cathasaigh: Your logic regarding the "props" is a great non sequitur. The purpose of the healthcare meeting with President Obama was to consider the thoughts and ideas of the Republican party. However, stacking the bill that the Democrats had written and raising an objection to the bill without a plan made the stacked papers a "prop" in the absence of any thought or idea regarding an amendment of the Healthcare Bill. The Republicans sound mechanistic because the medical machine infused them.
Come on now, let them have their do-over. It was hard work fighting to keep those non-existent death panels out of the bill last summer when the plan WAS a blank sheet of paper. As the Republicans themselves have repeatedly shown us, they can only focus on one thing at a time!
I like how you edited out the introduction where Matthews compares Republicans to the North Korean Workers Party for saying we should scrap this bill and start over (nevermind that poll after poll shows most Americans agree.) More partisan hackery from Charles Johnson.
Why they all say the same thing, word for word: they all get these talking points from one guy: Public Relations guru Frank Luntz. He's the proverbial tailor who makes the emperor's new clothes.
To be fair to the Republicans, they don't really have anything else. Their "ideas" are crap so they have to pretend that starting over will make a difference.
Unfortunately, it'll just be more of the same from the party of NO.
The Repubs think affordable health care for all of us is just too expensive....for insurance companies! I am a type 1 diabetic. My meds are costing too much. They would prefer people like me just die, after all, I cost too much.
OK, that clip really nailed them. Repubs have no solutions. In fact, they bring nothing to the table but talking points. At least the Democrats talked about real issues and concerns. Republicans talked about everything they've been saying all along, over and over again, about bad Obama, bad Democrats, bad government, and American people this and that. They either truly hate liberals and Democrats, or they're just lying so that Obama fails to put through any meaningful legislation.
@burnodo Actually, if you watched the whole thing, you'd have seen the Dems merely tell sensationalist sob story after sob story with no specifics. Yet when Republicans pointed out specific problems with the Dem bill, Obama stopped them every time. In fact, there have been GOP plans posted online for months and they've all been ignored by the Dems in favor of a big government "solution" that will cost jobs and raise costs. Polls show Americans don't want this. Who represents the American people?
It must hurt you to see your cherished party humiliate itself like that on national TV? The creme-de la creme of the GOP chattering like parrots the exact same talking points over and over and over. Makes one pine for the good ole' days when St. Ronald Reagan--THE GREAT COMMUNICATOR, may his name be blessed!--strode the earth, balls o' brass clacking, and crushed that phony Christian, Jimmy frickin' Carter, and then did us the favor by selling arms to both Saddam and the Ayatollah--wow!
Geee do ya think there was any rehearsing or coaching done here? Naaaa
They've still yet to offer any ideas, other than their usual rhetoric. They really love hearing themselves. I tip my hat to President Obama for remaining cool during this charade. I know I wouldn't have been able to contain myself!
How is Grayson's "Medicare for All" bill doing?

"Let's start over!" Like Tracy Morgan said in the movie "Cop Out", "No!" Check out the video in the following link.

Why on earth do we need so many republikins when they all say exactly the same thing? It seems only one or two would do it.

They are all parroting the same buzzwords from Frank Luntz's talking points primer. Not an original idea in that squabble of seagulls.

Yeah, right, that's all that was offered..
Nothing else, right?
That's all they said, not one fact, statistic, just six hours of them repating over and over start over.
You libs are absolutely pathetic, and ignorant.
You have to remember that for a whole year you had the "super" majority and couldn't get this crap passed, and yet it is all the Republicans' fault.
Morons.
